King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism

The Architecture and Design Commission is participating in the World Urban Forum
(eleventh session) in Katowice Poland with the King Salman Charter for Architecture
and Urbanism Exhibition. The exhibition is an inspiring journey for architects and
designers in a traveling exhibition that contains exemplar projects and design
methodology that is the basis for the national urbanization strategy in the future.
This participation achieves the objectives of the Charter in expanding the circle of
influence and inspiration for the successful local built environment as exemplar works to
be viewed by international audiences from around the world within the main topic of the
forum under the title (Transforming Our Cities for a Better Urban Future). The
Commission also participates with a discussion panel of the Charter as a book within
the activities of the Forum to discuss the methodology and implementation of the
Charter’s core values. The panel includes the Architecture and Design Commission
CEO, Dr. Sumayah Alsolaiman, Sumaya Dabbagh, Principal of Dabbagh Architects and
Daniel Ringelstein, Director of Master Planning and Urban Design in Arup.
The King Salman Charter for Architecture and Design Book discussion panel is the first
session in its category that will be held after the official opening of the forum on 27 June
2022. This participation is the first international participation of the Charter’s exhibition
after the exhibition has traveled through five cities in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh,
Abha, Jeddah, Dammam, and just recently concluded its exhibition in Madinah.

‫تشارك وزارة الثقافة ممثلة بهيئة فنون العمارة والتصميم بمعرض ميثاق الملك سلمان‬
‫العمراني في المنتدى الحضري العالمي في نسخته الحادية عشر‪ ،‬وينطلق المعرض من رؤية‬
‫خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود ‪-‬حفظه هللا‪ -‬في فنون العمارة‬
‫المحلية ودالالتها الثقافية‪ ،‬وهويتها التي تتوافق مع الطبيعة والمناخ والبيئة المحيطة‪،‬‬
‫وتعكس تاريخ المملكة وموروثها الحضاري األصيل‪.‬‬
‫وتحقق هذه المشاركة هدف الميثاق في توسيع دائرة التأثير واإللهام للبيئة العمرانية المحلية‬
‫الناجحة كنماذج يتم استعراضها على الجمهور الدولي من مختلف أنحاء العالم ضمن‬
‫الموضوع الرئيسي للمنتدى تحت عنوان (تحويل مدننا من أجل مستقبل حضري أفضل)‪،‬‬
‫ومشاركتهم كتاب الميثاق الذي يعد منهجية واضحة لتطبيق قيمه األساسية‪.‬‬
‫كما ستشارك الرئيس التنفيذي الدكتورة سمية السليمان ضمن فعاليات المكتبة الحضرية‬
‫بجلسة حوارية من تنظيم هيئة فنون العمارة والتصميم بعنوان (كتاب ميثاق الملك سلمان‬
‫العمراني) والذي يعتبر أول جلسة في فئتها سيتم عقدها بعد االفتتاح الرسمي للمنتدى بتاريخ‬
‫‪ ،2022-6-27‬تشارك فيه تفاصيل كتاب الميثاق ومنهجيته‪.‬‬
