DIFFERENT TYPES OF MOULDS

PICTURE DEFINITION

The purpose of a concrete cube test is to ensure that the concrete

meets its expected compressive strength. If the concrete doesn't hit
its design strength – or if it hasn't been tested – the supplier can't
guarantee its quality. Furthermore, the standard size of concrete cube
mould is 150 mm. the moulds for the specimens must be made of cast
iron or cast steel.

CUBE MOLDS

Concrete cylinders test the compressive strength of hardened

concrete. This compression performance measurement is among the
most common tests used by engineers when designing buildings and
other structures which utilize a concrete foundation. Concrete cylinder
molds are used to create cylinder test specimens. The cylinder
molds are constructed of plastic or steel. The plastic concrete cylinder
molds are disposable, while the steel molds are reusable. The molds

CYLINDER MOLDS come in a variety of sizes including: 2″ x 4″, 3″ x 6″, 4″ x 8″, and 6″ x
12”.

Concrete Beam Molds for molding concrete flexural strength

specimens are available in several configurations. Beam mold is
available in a 20 in. length with a cross-section of 6 x 6 in. They are
formed from heavy gauge steel plate to maintain dimensional shape
and can be easily disassembled for cleaning. Fitted handles assist
with easy movement. Plastic beam molds are also available. Inside
surfaces are smooth and water tight to eliminate need to apply sealant

II. SEIVE SET & SEIVE ANALYSIS

PICTURE DEFINITION

A device consisting of a stack of sieves

of increasing fineness, shaken to sort
gems by size . A sieve, fine mesh
strainer, or sift, is a device for separating
wanted elements from unwanted
material or for controlling the particle
size distribution of a sample, using a

SEIVE SET screen such as a woven mesh or net or

perforated sheet material. The word sift
derives from sieve.

The sieve analysis determines the

gradation (the distribution of aggregate
particles, by size, within a given sample)
in order to determine compliance with
design, production control requirements,
and verification specifications.
Furthermore, sieve analysis is a method
that is used to determine the grain size

SEIVE ANALYSIS distribution of soils that are greater than

0.075 mm in diameter. It is usually
performed for sand and gravel but
cannot be used as the sole method for
determining the grain size distribution of
finer soil. The sieves used in this method
are made of woven wires with square
openings.
