Answer the following in essay form.
1.) What is safety and how can one at work keep himself safe at
all times?
Safety is crucial, particularly in our daily lives and at
work, because there are numerous potential hazards around. But
we also have a lot of options for preventing bad things from
happening to us. But first, let's define the word "safety" before
moving on. Safety is the state of being shielded from or unlikely to
result in risk, danger, or harm. According to the definition, safety
is something we all value highly.
Let's speak about how a person or worker can preserve his
safety in daily life now that we understand what safety is. First,
put on PPE, or personal protective equipment. For instance, if you
work in construction, you must wear a helmet to shield your head
from flying debris, goggles to shield your eyes from flying dust or
metal shavings, and work shirts and pants to shield your entire
body from chemicals or metals in the workplace. Additionally,
gloves are a good way to protect your hands from threats
including chemicals, electric, and sharp items. This PPE will protect
you from dangerous elements in your working environment.
Second, always adhere to local safety regulations or procedures to
reduce the likelihood of accidents in the workplace. Finally, if you
are working with machines in particular, always examine the
equipment to see if it is safe to use before using it. This will help
to reduce the likelihood of accidents occurring in the working
space.
2.) Identify at least 5 personal protective equipment and how
can it aid you to be safe at work?
There are many different types of personal protection equipment, or
PPE, that you can use, but the five that I've listed are the most
frequently used, particularly in our area of mechanical engineering.
The first safety item is a helmet, which can shield your head from
things hanging or falling into the work area. Goggles come in second;
they shield your eyes from flying debris and potentially blinding
metal. Gloves come in third; they shield your hands from harmful
substances that can irritate your skin as well as sharp objects.
Fourth, a mask can shield your nose from noxious substances that
smell bad and can lead to respiratory problems. The fifth option is
steel toe shoes, which shield your feet from falling metal, wood, and
concrete objects that can injure you by breaking bones. Personal
protective equipment is essential for every job we do, but it's
especially important in engineering because it deals with things like
machines, construction, chemicals, and electricity, all of which have
a significant accident risk.
