Submission Guidelines
The Yangon University of Foreign Languages is delighted to announce call for papers to be
published in the “Journal of Language, Literature and Social Sciences JLLS (2022)”. The
journal will be published with special focus on “Enhancement of Research Community through
Innovative Research” and “The Role of Language, Literature and Social Science in Modern
Society”.
The JLLS is a peer-reviewed journal, including theoretical, practical and empirical papers. It
welcomes papers from both local and international academicians, researchers and authors who are
interested in language & linguistics, literature, social sciences, and action research.

Abstract

Your abstract should contain no more than 350 words, include the purpose of the article, research
questions, methods, and findings/results. The abstract should be included future implementations of
your research/future work1.

1. INTRODUCTION
(First Heading Time News Roman 12, bold, center alignment, with all letters capitalized)
Paper sections are separated through headings and sub-headings. The first headings of the
paper should be numbered consecutively with all letters capitalized. The body of the text should be
in Time News Roman 12 Font, alignment justified with single line spacing and no indent is needed
at the beginning of each Paragraph. The Headings of the paper should be as follows. 1. Introduction,
2. Methodology, (i.e. research design, literature review, study areas/ participants/ period, sampling,
data collection tools and techniques, data analysis, ethical considerations) 3.Results/Findings (with
tables/ figures/ diagrams/ photos, etc.) 4. Discussion 5. Conclusion and 6. References.

After the sub-heading number, a period (.) (not a colon or a semi colon) should be included as
mentioned above.

2. PAGE FORMAT

The spacing between header and paragraph should be 3pt. The column spacing should be 0.3”.
Header and footer margin should be 0.4 inches. Please do not add page numbers. These will be added,
if the paper is assembled to publish.
Footnotes should be in 10 point Times New Roman font, single line spacing
3.1. Tables
All tables should be numbered like (e.g. Table 1) and table caption should be Times New Roman
11, bold, centered and above the table.

3.2. Figures
All diagrams, photographs, graphs and charts are regarded as Figures. All figures should be numbered
like (e.g. Figure 1) and figure captions should be Times New Roman 11, bold, centered and beneath the
figure.
Acknowledgements are optional and not be numbered. It should be in Times New Roman 10, single line
spacing. Recommendation is also optional and numbered, if included. Appendix

The reference list should be at the end of the paper. It should not be numbered and used in
APA (American Psychological Association) style (also for in-text citation).
Examples:
(Book) Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capitalize first letter of subtitle.
Location: Publisher Name.
For whose names do not meet the English culture like First Name, Last Name or Surname:
For Chinese: 1) reference list: Surname First name (no comma added) and 2) in-text citations:
Surname First name (no comma added)
For Thai: 1) reference list: Full name (first name surname); 2) in-text citations: first name,
year
For Burmese: 1) reference list: Full name (personal names consisting of one or more words)
without any title (e.g. Daw, Dr), 2) in-text citations: full name, year
For papers citing articles in languages other than English, please give the title in both the English
and original language citation.
