WHAT IS/ARE THE PRINCIPLES OF
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
APPLIED BY YOUR COLLEGE?

My college's community engagement principle is gender

equality because they give equal and fair opportunities to both
men and women students to enhance and develop their
abilities and attain fairness of treatment for both, following their
individual needs. In addition, empowerment is also applied in
my college because they foster students' capabilities,
confidence, and active participation in decision-making
processes and initiatives that affect their lives.
What is the level of engagement of your
college with their partner community?
Community engagement can occur at various levels, depending
on the degree of involvement and influence community members
have in decision-making processes. With that, my college's
engagement level with its partner community is at Stage 6:
Partnership. It is because my college directly involves the
decision-making process and auctioning the decision. Each has a
clear role, responsibilities, and powers to achieve a common goal.
In what modality of community engagement are your college
community activities at the moment? Give examples.

The modality of community engagement at my college community

activities is transformational because they seek to create significant and
sustainable change within communities by fostering active participation,
empowering community members, and addressing systemic issues. For
instance, they focus on building community members' capacity by
providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to
participate in decision-making processes actively. In addition, they
embrace a learning mindset and encourage ongoing reflection and
adaptation based on feedback, evaluation, and community input.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP YOUR COLLEGE PROVIDE
BETTER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT?

Prioritize and encourage two-way communication. Creating channels for

effective two-way communication between my college and the community.

Integrate service-learning programs into the curriculum

to provide students with hands-on experience and opportunities to engage
and interact with the community.

Involve community members in decision-making processes related to

college policies, programs, and initiatives.
