From the video provided titled “Leading with Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace” which taught

us about the ability to understand, express and manage our own emotions, develop and maintain good
social relationship among workmates and think rationally and solve problem with ease. And out of 15
emotional intelligence competencies the video only provide 5 of it which consist of self-regard,
assertiveness, social responsibility, impulse control, and flexibility. A summarization of its contents
are: we must learn to accept and respect our self since we are born to be true not to be perfect; to say
what you wanna say in a non offensive way; to give back or be cooperative being responsible enough
doing things for/with others; to resist or delay an impulse drive or temptation; and lastly, the transition
of emotions from one state to another to adjust the emotions, thought and behaviour that will fit in to
the situations. This five aspects of emotional intelligence point out that the more we can manage these
areas, the higher the emotional intelligence are.
At this moment I can say that I am not that emotionally intelligent though some of those aspect is
I already applied to my self but I need to work it out more to strengthen it. I accept my self, I love my
existence; to help those who are in need at my best; being able to to resist from the worldly temptation
by weighing things out between what I want and what I need which I always prefer my needs most of
the time than the things that tempt me, it can wait; and flexible enough to cope up in a situation and not
letting my emotions devour me I likely to maintain a harmonious relationship with others. So how
intelligent am I emotionally? I would say that I am in average. Where I can consider to be pretty good
at interpreting and acting upon emotions and quite good dealing emotional conflict but can sometimes
overwhelmed by the sudden change of emotionally charged situations.
