UNIV 200 | FINAL REPORT
My UNIV 200 course experience was just 3 months unfortunately because we had a lot of holidays
this semester but that did not stop me from learning to think outside the box, come up with
innovative ideas and understand entrepreneurship. I took the entrepreneur test and here are the
results.

With a 76% total score on the GET2, I am likely to have some strengths in the entrepreneurial traits
and may exhibit inventive behaviour in some situations. I could discover that at this point in my life I
am content to work on a small number of projects and that I am content to be entrepreneurial,
either in my professional capacity as an intrapreneur or in my free time through volunteer
community initiatives.

Need for achievement:

Concluding the results: I found out that my need for achievements is very high with 83% this shows
that I have traits such that include a future-focused orientation, reliance on one's own abilities,
sustaining optimism, and a clear task orientation. Having good time management skills, a results-
oriented mindset for both me and others, restlessness, high levels of drive and energy, and a
willingness to stand up for one's beliefs are all essential traits. Additionally, a commitment to see
goals through even in the face of challenges shows responsibility and perseverance in the pursuit of
my aims. Successful businesspeople have a goal-oriented mindset, establish ambitious but
achievable objectives, and are prepared to put in a lot of overtime when necessary to get things
done.

Need for Autonomy:

I had an average score of 50 %. Although I might be content to work as an intrapreneur or as a valued

part of an organizational team, I might recognize myself as being somewhat independent,
individualistic, and determined. Starting my own business may require me to develop more assertive
independent leadership skills. Starting a business is just one possibility for me; I had likely be equally
content working as an employee on team projects for my employer or on my own initiatives’ tasks.

Creative tendency:

With a medium score, I might consider myself to be somewhat creative, but I am less likely to come
up with bold, disruptive innovations that could change the game. However, I might be extremely
adept at identifying and skilfully incorporating new technology into my work, and I might be
practically effective in the way I develop and utilize my talents. I could want to think about honing my
own latent creative abilities if I were to adopt a more innovative strategy. The optimum environment
for creativity is a calm one where I avoid critical thinking or focusing too intently on an issue. I may
then employ techniques like mind mapping or brainstorming to generate a ton of ideas. To give the
subconscious time to work on ideas during an incubation stage, certain idleness is required as part of
the creative process. Although creative ideas can often be the result of an iterative process of
thinking, employing creative approaches, and relaxation to come up with new ideas, this may lead to
unexpected revelations or Eureka moments.

Calculated Risk taking:

I scored high on Risk taking with 83%. I am known to be a risk taker, if there are no risks there are no
benefits. I have these traits: I am a self-aware, resolute person with excellent analytical abilities. I
also have a strong sense of goal setting, and I set myself difficult but doable objectives that inspire
me to achieve. Finally, I can confidently accomplish my goals because to my good information
management abilities, which enable me to use information to determine the likelihood that my
activities will succeed. Self-awareness with the ability to accurately assessing my capabilities;
Analytical, being good at evaluating the likely benefits against the likely costs of actions.

Locus of control:

Having a medium score of 75% shows that I might consider myself somewhat opportunistic,
confident, and determined. Even though if I wanted to start my own business, I need to develop my
enterprising skills to make my business successful. I also need to work on my self-confidence and rely
on myself more. By doing so I will be more responsible and increase my self-confidence.

Moving on to my creativity test, here are my results.

My score was set tot 87.6 which is considered high. I remember taking this test at the beginning of
the course and my score was approximately 83. This shows that the course helped me to have
innovative ideas, think outside the box, and be creative.

Moving on to my entrepreneurial experiences in this course are divided into two sections. 1) Creating
our own idea and presenting it as a group. 2) Sneakers simulation game.

1) Creating our own idea and presenting it as a group:

Personally, I hated working on group projects because I can’t trust my colleagues to finish their work
on time and submit it. But this time, it was different. My colleagues were caring to achieve the
highest marks and outcome with the best idea. We all agreed to present the Emergency Elevated
system. It was very hard to research the risks, outcome, how we will make it work, how to make a
prototype, how to market it, what’s the cash flow and is it beneficial or not. We had a lot of thoughts
and a lot of work to do. We all started doing our parts, mine was planning how to market it and what
are the target markets. I kept digging the internet to find ideas and elaborate on them until I found
my solution successfully. The time for presenting our project was fun to get people to listen to our
innovative idea, ask us questions and get their feedback. Overall, this experience was wonderful it
thought me how to present my ideas in an organized and innovative way. It also gave me the courage
to speak in front of random people without fearing.

2) Sneakers simulation game.

Sneakers simulation game was the toughest challenge I faced because it contained a lot of sections
to be fulfilled and approaching the market in a strategical way. I always like to oversee everything
happening around me that’s why I chose to be market leadership to make high quality sneakers
despise the price. My aim was to control the market with my products and to be the number one. I
also contributed some money for research purposes to always create better quality sneakers. I hired
two managers to help me calculate the risks and supervise my employees. I took a 1-million-dollar
loan from the bank to be able to buy machines. It was difficult to be in control of everything and
making a small decision can impact drastically on my score. This game also showed me its not as easy
as I thought to run a business, everything must be calculated, and risks must be taken.

My overall experience:

UNIV 200 was an extraordinary course and I’m grateful I took. I learned a lot about business
concepts, innovation, and creativity. I learned that business is not easy to run but if you run it
correctly you will have the highest benefits. Group presentation helped me a lot to overcome my fear
of speaking in front of people, it also made me come up with critical thinking solutions to our
project. Sneakers game helped me understand how business works and what are the decisions to be
made to run a business. There are also many approaches to the market such as using the lowest
price, highest quality, or a sweet spot in-between. I am glad I took this course early in my engineering
years it gave me a better understanding of what is going on in the real world.
