The article selected for the current exercise is entitled Artificial Intelligence made these
Stunning images; here is why experts are concerned. The Cable News Network (CNN) posted
this article on august 2, 2022 (Metz, 2022). The issue raised by this article is the ethics behind AI
in its growth and advancement to replace the human level of consciousness. From the article,
there is a major ethical concern where AI is a powerful tool to create all kinds of content, with
the question of how it might affect human creativity, mainly in arts and ads.
Utilitarianism theory advocates actions that foster pleasure or happiness and opposes
events that cause harm and unhappiness. A person using utilitarianism theory would view the
above issue negatively, purposely considering the consequences that AI and its agents might
bring to perfect human endeavors (Mitov, 2021). This would include events AI has brought to
An individual using Kantian moral theory would view the issue above in its extent to
valuing and respecting people. According to Kantian’s theory of morality, the supreme principle
behind morality is reflective of practical rationale (Ulgen, 2017). Arguably, an individual using
this theory on the issue might argue that AI and robotics do not possess or reflect a human
rational thinking capacity and do not fit to have a rule that is inherently desirable, valuable, and
I believe the utilitarianism theory would be logical in the context of ethical concerns
raised by the article above. First, this theory is optimistic about the changes AI and its respective
agents would bring to change human lifestyles. Arguably, this theory suggests that AI is up to
bringing happiness and pleasure rather than gaps reflected by Kantian views.
