Democratic leadership style values the input and ideas of all team members in the decision-
making process. Although the leader retains the right to make the final decision, team members
are encouraged to offer input, allowing for different points of view and a more diverse thought
effective style because it makes the team members feel valued and makes them more committed
to the goal. It is, however, not ideal for fast-paced high-pressure environments such as the
Servant leadership is one of the most common and highly recommended leadership styles
in nursing. The servant leader gives the needs of the nurses top priority. The most effective way
to achieve positive nursing outcomes is by ensuring that the patients are cared for by a coherent
and cohesive team (Best, 2020). Patients receive the best care when the nurses are not distracted
by a lack of resources and support from the nurse leader and other superiors. Servant leadership
is also an effective way of dealing with important factors in nursing such as fatigue and burnout.
With servant leadership, nurses receive proper support, through resources and moral and spiritual
encouragement.
Communication is an important factor for the successful of any organization, group and
relationship. In the nursing profession, communication is important because most care is given
by groups and teams. Interpersonal communication is important for team members to create a
cohesive environment and provide comprehensive care for patients (Stein-Parbury, 2019). Team
members should be able to effectively communicate their needs to their leader and communicate

among themselves to ensure they serve patient needs effectively. Nurses should also establish
proper communication channels with their patients so as to understand their needs. All these
