Speaker's Corner for Boosting Confidence

Being confident is a key trait that many universities strive to inculcate

among their students. Students who are exposed to public speaking are
able to bring themselves to many heights. As part of encouraging
students to participate in public speaking, the English teachers in
Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kudat have created the opportunity by
creating a speaker's corner. Spearheaded by four Malaysian University
English Test (MUET) teachers, Lo Bit Syen @ Pamela, Noor Azni Binti
Abdul Aziz, Aini Maria Pea and Shahlindah Binti Sofian Shah, this
program of encouraging students to share their opinions is a crucial
exercise for them before they face the many challenges in the work field.
Officiated by the Principal of SMK Kudat, Mr Roseberth @ Mohammad
Bin Jalilul on the 5th of July 2022, this activity will be an important task
for students to complete to prepare them for their MUET examinations.
What's more, SMK Kudat has achieved the best MUET results in the
district of Kudat, with the 2021 batch producing two Band 5 (the
second-highest level in MUET new format) students who are now
awaiting their final term results. It is also the only school in Sabah
offering Literature in English for STPM students.
