I use audible as well.

But it was nice to not have to use Audible for the stuff I could find on
Scribd. I work at home and homeschool my kids. I listen to audiobooks all the time and can
consume an entire audiobook, depending on the length, in 1-3 days. I limit myself to paying the
$35 for 3 credits twice a month. It would get very expensive to pay $35 for 3 credits for all my
audiobooks though.
My library basically has no audiobooks at all. It's a small town library with very little options. All
the books I have on hold now have a wait of 16 weeks to several months. So the library, for me
anyways, is basically useless.
How do you get free audible credits??
Re: Audible, when you are a monthly member, they occasionally give out credits. They gave one
out this past Christmas. I’ve had them gift them to me by commenting on their Instagram. It’s
not very often, mind you, but it happens. I’ve seen sales where if you spend x amount, you earn
a credit. More frequently, they have sales where if you use credits, you get cash coupons,
anywhere from $5 to $25.
Then after that promotion, they will usually have a sale with books priced around $5. Cheap
cash sales is where the membership really pays off. The Black Friday sale is awesome; this past
year they had books for as low as $1. I understand though that this might not be in everyone’s
budget.
Also, when you are on the monthly credit system, you have access to the entire plus catalog, all
included. Some people find tons of books they love, others not so much.
Re: the library. Did you know you can purchase membership to a library with great choices of
audiobooks? Then you can access their catalog. Its anywhere from $27 to over $100 a year, with
the best one being around $50, but that is cheaper than $35 for 3 credits.

I hope this helps. I am not a shill for Audible, just a happy customer for 11 years, and I’ve seen
how the sales work and how books can add up. I wish they still had the Escape package; that
was truly wonderful.
Mine was limited to 3 newer or more popular titles a month and then sometimes I could listen
to less exciting things after that. But that was after being subscribed for almost 2 years. I found
out about anyplay fm and it has most of what scrbd has and it’s actually unlimited! They only
have audiobooks though, no e books or things like that. I’ve been subscribed to them for
probably a year and love it!I wish scribd had enough stuff available that i was interested in to
keep reading despite the blocks. I guess I had too much stuff saved in my list because most of it
was wiped out. Every author I like is blocked, every publisher is blocked, every series is blocked.
All they have left me with is stuff I would never ever waste my time on.
I realize now that they obviously have some issues with consistency. I went a year without a
single block and I consumed A LOT. Like entire series by the same author, an author's entire
catalogue of available work, etc. Apparently it is not like this for some people.
You're saying you are left with enough stuff to keep reading and be content. I was not left with
much of anything. Basically all of the fantasy and romance genre was completely wiped out for
me because that's what I enjoy. They know people won't listen or read if they don't like it, so
they won't have to shell out royalties. Where is the consistency if I'm completely wiped out and
you still have stuff left? Their algorithm is flawed big time
I wish I could use Libby or Overdrive. Scribd and Audible are basically my only options. I have
heard that I could use a library card number from a big city that actually stocks up on ebooks
and audiobooks, but I don't know how to use any library except my own. My library selection is
abysmal. Their romance section is essentially the cheap paperbacks you see at Walmart. Mostly
about cowboys or amish romance. Also, mine only gets 1 or 2 copies of stuff. So like I said, the
wait is months long. To me, that's pointless.
