INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
NICOLÁS MADURO
Nicolás Maduro is the President of Venezuela who succeeded
Hugo Chávez after his death in 2013. He has played a
significant role in Venezuela's continuing political and economic
turmoil. Controversies, accusations of authoritarianism,
violations of human rights, and poor economic management
have all accompanied his reign.

JUAN GUAIDÓ
Politician Juan Guaidó, who formerly presided over Venezuela's
National Assembly, contested Nicolás Maduro's legitimacy in
January 2019 by announcing himself as the country's temporary
leader. Many nations, including the United States and several
European countries, praised Guaidó's efforts.
DOMESTIC LEVEL
Venezuela has been going through a multilayered crisis that involves political, economic,
social, and humanitarian aspects as of my understanding, with a cutoff date of September
2021. The economic status and general well-being of the people of Venezuela have been
significantly impacted by the conflict. I'll describe the scenario at that time, but it's vital to
keep in mind that it could have changed since then.

INTERSTATE LEVEL
Mass Migration and Refugee Crisis: Venezuela is experiencing one of the greatest
migration and refugee crises in the Western Hemisphere as a result of the country's
economic collapse, political unrest, and poor living circumstances.
Strain on Neighboring Countries: The countries that are taking in migrants and
refugees from Venezuela have had difficulty supplying enough aid and resources
to the flow of people.
Humanitarian help and Support: To meet the needs of Venezuelan migrants and
refugees, international organizations and surrounding nations have been supplying
humanitarian help.
Security worries: The Venezuelan crisis has produced a climate that is favorable to
illegal activity like drug trafficking and organized crime.
Cross-border health issues: Have arisen as a result of Venezuela's failing healthcare
system since contagious diseases and other health issues are readily transmitted to
its neighbors.
