Guidelines for Students to access CU-VERSE and join Live Sessions for

Summer Term Session


Dear Students,

We welcome you all to the Summer Term Session of Chandigarh University. We hope that
you all are safe and doing well and are ready for the summer term teaching learning
process. The detailed timetable of the classes is available with you on CUIMS. All registered
students are required to login to LMS using their CUIMS login credentials and join classes
as per their timetable.

Kindly follow the step by step guidelines to access your courses on CU- Verse:
Learning Management System and adhere to following ‘Online Etiquette Protocol’ :

1. Visit cuims.in.
Use Student Login option for accessing your CUIMS account to see your timetable.
2. Navigate to My Time Table option to view the timetable as shown in the image below:

After clicking on My Time Table the actual timetable can be seen as shown in the image
below:

Each entry in the grid above shown represents a session which contains details like
subject-code, group, practical and group. You will have to attend classes of all subjects.
3. Visit cuims.in.
Use CU-Verse (LMS Login) option to access your subject contents and attend LIVE
classes (Login with CUIMS login credentials).

4. The student should login to the LMS Login window as shown below:
(Login with CUIMS login credentials).
5. Upon login, you can see all the courses allocated to you on the main course landing page.

The course name will be as : Section :: SubjectCode_SubjectName

e.g. SUM_20BEL-1 :: 20ELT-317B_POWER ELECTRONICS

6. Every student should verify that all the courses (along with the sections and groups) are
visible in your LMS dashboard as per your timetable.
(Contact your HOD immediately in case of any missing subject)
7. To join a Live classroom session as per your timetable:
(Only for Online & Blended Mode Courses). Some courses are running in physical
mode also. Contact your HOD for more details.
• Login to LMS with your CUIMS login credentials.
• Click on the specific course (with nomenclature mentioned above) at the time of the
class (as mentioned in the timetable)
• Click on “Live Session Links” Tab. The session name will be visible as
Day_Lecture No._Theory
(e.g. Mon_2_Theory or Tues_3_Practical(A))
• MS Teams platform will be used for live lectures where the icon for joining
session will be shown as below:

8. On clicking the link you will be redirected to the following interface.


9. Sign in Microsoft teams using cuchd mail id (e.g.: 19BCS1001@cuchd.in).
(NOTE : You are requested to kindly send all the queries related to student official
CUCHD email password reset at password@cumail.in mentioning Email Subject with
"<Student UID> Password Reset")
10. Click on Join Now
General Guidelines and Code of Conduct during Online Classes
1. Be ready for the online class at least 5 minutes before the class time and sit in a quiet
place without any distraction and disturbance.
2. All students must be properly and decently dressed. Punctuality and discipline are
essential to truly gain from the teaching learning management system.
3. Use a pair of earphones for good voice quality.
4. Keep your books, notebooks, stationery, and other materials (such as calculators) at hand
before the start of the class.
5. Check your internet connection before the session begins. You should join at least 5
minutes before the start time of class.
6. Frequent latecomers will be barred from joining future sessions. You should be present
for at least 30 minutes out of 40 minutes duration of any online class, otherwise, you shall
be marked as ABSENT for that class. The attendance of the class will be automatically
marked based on attended time.
7. In case you are not able to login, be patient and try again.
Reset your CUIMS password and try again after 10 minutes on LMS CU-VERSE
( https://uims.cuchd.in/ )
Password must contain the following:
• Minimum 6 characters
• One or more lowercase letter
• One or more capital (uppercase) letter
• One or more number
• A special character (@ is allowed)
Example: Abcdef@123
Step 1 : Go to uims.cuchd.in
Step 2 : Change CUIMS password by logging in to CUIMS
Step 3 : Open lms.cuchd.in
Step 4 : Enter the updated password and UID

NOTE:- If you are unable to log in after following the steps, Please share your UID and
email id provided by the university at culms.help@cumail.in
• You are requested to kindly send all the queries related to student official email
password reset at password@cumail.in mentioning Email Subject with "<Student UID>
Password Reset".
• In case of any query other than online class concerns, you can send an email to
studentcare@cumail.in. The student care representatives will help to resolve your
concern at the earliest.
8. Greet your teachers at the beginning and at the end of the online class. Use attentive
body language, sit up straight, do not make extraneous movements and pay attention to
the teacher. Do not post objectionable emoji or chats during the session.
9. Do not eat during the session. Please eat your food and use washrooms during the 5
minutes break time allotted after every class or during lunch time.
10. In case you wish to ask an urgent question during the session, you may use the chat
function. You can use ‘post feedback’ or ‘raise hand’ features during the session.
Teachers may also give students an opportunity to ask questions verbally towards the
end of the session.
11. Nod your response for the various engagement activities planned by your teacher.
Provide response for raise hand activities, student feedback, and poll activities.
12. Students are advised to keep their virtual backgrounds simple and decent.
13. Close unneeded applications on your computer to keep the video optimally functioning.
14. When you are speaking, let others know that you are finished by saying one of these
sign-offs: “That’s all.” “I’m done.” “Thank you.” So that everyone knows you have
finished your comments.
15. Please leave the session after the class time is OVER. The teacher shall leave the session
only after all the students have left.
16. If any student is found disturbing the class by posting unnecessary chats or feedbacks,
he/she will be removed from the class and would be marked as absent. In case of any
inappropriate behavior, the student will be removed from meeting room and will be
reported to DSW for the necessary action. It is for the benefit of all that decorum of the
class is maintained at all times.
17. Apart from the online live sessions, students are expected to contribute and perform
various assessment and engagement tasks (Graded and Non-graded) for every course
posted by the teacher.
18. Each student’s activity per week for every course and for every task shall be monitored
by the concerned teacher and/or by the concerned class mentor.
19. Students under NO circumstances are allowed to share their LMS/ CUIMS/ MS Teams
password or Meeting ID with anyone. A strict action will be taken against the student
who is found guilty of doing the same.
20. Students are advised to read the netiquette guidelines available in every course on LMS
for attempting the assessment/engagement tasks.
21. The students for whom classes are in complete physical mode are advised to follow the
protocols of physical classes and maintain their attendance accordingly.
22. It is important that all students attend the online classes regularly and make optimal
use of the opportunity available to them.
NOTE :
• You are requested to kindly send all the queries related to student official CUCHD

“<Student UID> Password Reset”.
Only password reset queries of student official email will be entertained on this email id.

• In case of any query other than login issues, you can send an email to
