What Are The Effects of Playing Chess

As a Student

What is chess? Chess is Invented in India in the 6th century CE, its earliest known form was
called chaturanga. Chaturanga or chess is A kind of a board game that requires strategic,
calculate and analysis skills for two players. Each player starts the game with sixteen pieces,
which can be moved and used in specific ways to eliminate the opponent's pieces. The goal is
to directly attack the opposing team's king, making escape impossible and it’s called
checkmate. So some of student are interesting or fun to play it. But some of us thinking what
are the effects of playing chess as students? there are two effects, the good effects and bad
effects.

First what are the good effects of playing chess as student? It imparts a range of abilities,
including problem-solving, visualisation, and critical thinking. Students can apply those
abilities in their own lives, and some coaches are suggest that participation in after-school or
on-campus chess clubs is associated with improved maths performance. Additionally having a
knowledge about playing chess can help you become a varsity that benefits you like free
tuition free allowance. Like in FEU ( Far Eastern University) they have try outs to became a
varsity of FEU
By defeating all master that you faced. I know you thinking of it, that is insane or impossible
to win because you are ordinary player but your opponent is a master. But Mark Goldenson
says “A chess novice can defeat a master if moving twice each round"
I know you thinking of it, it is crazy quotation right because you need to move twice to defeat
a master but Mark Goldenson want to say is you need to know more, more knowledge and
more experiences to defeat a master. And i believe in saying that “if you want it work for it”

Second what is the bad effects of playing chess as a student? Some competitive chess players
experience intense worry about how they will perform in matches. The game has even been
compared by some to mental torture. Stress related to performance or rankings in a
competitive environment may even disrupt restful sleep and it can may affect to her/his study
in school. But as a chess player and student also, i experience a lot of things in chess world
and academic world to me it is extremely exciting to face some challenges in my life. I know
it's hard to play chess and study at the same time but when you know how time management
is, for sure you can do it easily.
