2. Glucose + Amino Acids + Electrolytes + Vitamin B1 1000 ml is a provision of amino
acids, electrolytes, vitamin B1, and water via a peripheral vein to patients with mild
hypoproteinemia or mild malnutrition due to inadequate oral intake, and before and after
surgery.

3. Parenteral nutrition is used primarily in therapies of gastrointestinal patient s after

stomach resection, with short bowel syndrome, intestinal fistula, bowel obstruction, and
absorption disorders (Crohn’sdisease, acutepancreatitis) and as perioperative treatment in
malnourished or depleted patients with extensive burns, and those in shock and uring
chemo and radiotherapy.

4. Parenteral nutrition a form of administering nutrients, electrolytes , trace elements,

vitamins, and water is a widely used mode of therapy applied in many diseases ,in patients of
different ages both at home and in hospital. The success of nutritional therapy depends chiefly on
proper determination of the patient’s energetic and electrolytic needs as well as preparation and
administration of as a nutritional mixture.
