DIARE

A. Introduction

Diarrhea is a common symptom of gastrointestinal infections


caused various pathogens, including bacteria, viruses and
protozoa. Diarrhea is more common in developing countries
because of a lack of safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene,
and poorer nutritional status. According to the latest available
figures, an estimated 2.5 billion people lack proper sanitation
facilities, and nearly one billion people lack access to
safe drinking water. Diarrhea is a disease that causes the sufferer
to have frequent bowel movements with watery or liquid stools. In
general, diarrhea occurs due to consuming food and drink
contaminated with viruses, bacteria, or parasites.

1. What is diarrhea?
2. Why does diarrhea accur ?
3. How to care it?

C. Discussion
Diarrhea is a disease that causes the sufferer to have frequent
bowel movements with watery or liquid stools. In general, diarrhea
occurs due to consuming food and drink contaminated with viruses,
bacteria, or parasites.
The basic mechanism of diarrhea is hormonal dictatorship (food
that cannot be absorbed will cause ormotic pressure in the
intestinal cavity to increase, causing water and electrolyte
movement into the intestinal tract, excessive intestinal cavity
content causing diarrhea).
Diarrhea can be overcome with:
- Take diarrhea medicine
- Consume lost of hurts to replace lost fluids, either orally or
intravenousiy
- Administration of drugs that fight bacterial infections
- In addition to the method above, there are also other
treatments. Treatment for diarrhea is usually adjusted to the
cause

D. Conclasion

Gastreonteritis or diarrhea is defecation (BAB) with more


liquid stool consistency with a frequency of more than three times a
day, expect for neonates (baby less than one month who get breast
milk ussualy defecete with a frequency more often five to six times
a day) with good consistency is considered nomal.
