24 May 2021 - 26 Receptionist / Concierge
June 2021 My work experience was part of my course practicals for Work Intergrated
Learning module.

We were given the opportunity to experience and to prepare for the real world
employment by our institution and the establishment.

My front desk/reception duties were as follow.

- Confirming bookings and handling payments attached to guest folio.

- Checking in guests and checking them out using the Opera System.

- Transferring of calls to the relevant hotel department.

- Assisting guests and other employees where necessary.

- Providing a warm welcome for guests.


- Problem solving.

My concierge duties were as follow.

- Switchboard operations , where I had to direct calls to the appropriate


department.

- Assisting guests with transportation to wherever they wished to go.

- Keeping guests luggage safe by the luggage barrier to avoid confusion and
giving someone the wrong luggage so we were taught to attach a particular
ticket onto their luggage which had a code that matched their on tear off code.

- Showing potential guests types of rooms the hotel provides.

- Assisting with the preparations of romantic turndown service.

- Recommending activities for both children and adults.

- Helping with restaurant reservations.

- Room dropping of souvenirs and thank you notes.

- Hotel Tours under the supervision of the assistant I was shadowing.

26 June 2021 - 20 Housekeeping Department.
July 2021 My duties were as follow.

- Supervisory, where I had to update rooms on the system after they have been
attended.

- Allocating Tasks to the housekeepers.

- Stock taking , counting of items that are normally placed in each room
especially for the coffee station and bathroom necessities.

- Alerting housekeepers of guests requests.

- Room inspection & room preparations before check in time.

- Counting linen.
