1. News & Updates
a. Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch
The Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch in San Antonio, Texas needed back up power to keep their
facilities running and their animals safe in case of an outage. Holt worked with the wildlife
ranch to assess their needs and installed four Cat® diesel generator sets to provide backup
power. Below are some comments on Cat® Remote Asset Monitoring (RAM) from T. Dexter
Soechting, the director of animal care and operations at the ranch.
“With all the steep hills here on the ranch and the distance we have to cover, if we have an ice
storm here, it will be nice to pull up the Cat RAM app on my phone and check the status and
fuel levels of our generators.”
“In an adverse weather event, there are endless things that we’re trying to fix and get going.
So, when it comes to our generators and knowing in real time about their ready-to-run status,
having that off our plate is a huge relief.”
- T. Dexter Soechting

b. Natural Bridge Caverns

Natural Bridge Caverns is located next to the wildlife ranch in San Antonio. The family-owned
and operated natural wonder features multiple tour experiences through two distinct caverns
that each extend for one-half mile. Natural Bridge Caverns worked with Holt to set up a fleet of
2 five Cat® generator sets to ensure the caverns would stay lit while guests were on tours.
“In the past, I’d have to drive around and check the generators periodically or wait for someone
to tell me that they heard a noise out in the pasture and have me go and check it out,” Royce
says. “Now with Cat Connect, it saves me from driving around to check on all the units. I
receive an alert on my phone or an email to let me know if there’s a change in status on one of
the generators.”

“With all the various activities we have going on here, time is precious, and checking fuel levels
is a mundane task,” Royce continues. “Until recently, I’d have to run over and check the fuel
gauges. But now with the mobile app, I can also receive a fuel alert if any of the generators dip
below 50 percent. So that alone is a real time saver.”

- Justin Royce, cavern development director
