Jay’s life has always been a little complicated.

Tales of Humans and Fey

together have existed long before the times that we live in now, and Jay’s formation
was one of those. Loriander was a Fey creature from another realm, an entity
known as a Morphling, a type of shapeshifter renowned for its ability to charm and
wow those around them with strange magicks. Morphlings are believed to be what
old sailors believed to be SIrens, having shape changed into alluring forms.
Regardless of whether or not a Morphling is murderous, they do have an urge to
find and mess with mortals in some way or another. And Loriander, having just fully
grown into their own, was curious as to what the mortal world had to offer, and
morphed into an illuminating humanoid form, and went from the fey realm to earth.
Jay’s father, a man by the name of Robert Bleeker, is unassuming all things
considered. He worked a number of odd jobs as a repairman, a delivery driver, a
substitute teacher, and more. Just to get by. What Robert did have going for him
was a relatively attractive appearance that he kept up the best he could, it was
during one of his routine deliveries that Robert heard a cry of pain come from the
woods, and discovered a woman, who had dislocated her leg it seems within the
forest. It was the two’s first interaction, and Robert was smitten immediately. Of
course Loriander had manipulated her bones to dislocate her leg.
Robert immediately took her to a hospital, and in no time the two had
become inseparable, and a relationship began to form. Loriander was mostly
interested in continuing to trick him, and began to try and make Robert suffer
slightly. Every so often, something of hers would break and Robert would have to
drop everything to go and help her, additionally, Lori would disguise herself as
various people and cause issues with Robert’s house, sometimes it would be set on
fire, sometimes various things would be broken, on various occasions Lori would
steal things, and on one very messed up occasion, she even buried Robert’s dog
alive.
All of this had led to a continual crippling of the man’s psyche, he grew
paranoid as multiple bad things happened in his life. But thankfully his relationship
with Lori was rock solid. And in no time, the couple were married, and the bad
events continued to get worse. Things escalated on their honeymoon as their ship
almost capsized, and their luggage was mishandled, all the while Lori complained
that Robert needed to do more for her.
A few months passed after this, before the shocking announcement came in,
Lori was pregnant. For Robert it was an exciting day, and for Lori it was…
Disappointing. A child would mean that er Fey nature would clearly come out, and
that her toying with the man was to come to an end, 9 months later, when young
Jason was born, After giving birth to him, and Robert heading down to see his new
son, only to be confused when the baby’s legs were a goats legs, and small budding
horns were already growing. When he went to confront his wife, she was missing
from her hospital bed, leaving only a few petals and her wedding ring.
Jason Bleeker was born in a dysfunctional household. His father took care of
him, though not nearly to the ability that he could have. The man was shattered,
though much of the bad events in his life had faded, he was stuck with a forever
echoing mention of his wife, and the almost otherworldliness of his son hit him
every day. His father was distant, he would do all the things a father was supposed
to do, make sure he got up on time, get him to school, give him dinner, and give him
a place to sleep, but none with the love and care that a parent is supposed to have.
When Jay reached the age to actually go to school, he knew he was different,
there were of course other races such as elves, dwarves, and Gnomes, none were
as… Obvious as Jason was. However he began to wow them in his own ways.
Perhaps because of the lack of attention he received at home, or maybe it was just
naturally his fey Instincts. Jason hogged the spotlight, he was a master of games on
the playground, the fastest runner on campus, and naturally gifted with the Guitar.
While the guitar may seem like something small in Jason’s life, it wasn’t. Jason
fell in love with his guitar given to him by the school. He was an expert before he
was even in middle school, Able to play things even grown ups couldn’t with relative
ease. Jason’s mind was clear, he was going to join the band, and go to school to
become a musician!
Our dreams get shattered quickly. Jason was quickly recruited as he reached
High School, before he had a chance to join the band, the track team quickly
recruited him for a few reasons, they had heard of his skill in middle school at the
sport. And two, as a satyr he was naturally suited to the pursuit anyways. When the
coach of the team told him how much potential money could be made by going to
college and getting a full ride for it… Well it didn’t take much convincing… Some
dreams had to be left behind, but Jason was still a little happy.
High school was a good experience for Jason, his freshman and sophomore
years were full of the most partying you could possibly imagine. He reveled in the
attention being the star member of the track team gave him, people from that time
would remember how jason would lift multiple people on his back every night just
for the hell of it, how he would outrun people while running backwards, how he
would drink so much alcohol that he would not remember who or where he was
waking up with in the morning…. How every night there was a possibility that he
would get in a car and hurt somebody by accident.
It wasn’t all fun and games, Jason got in a lot of fights, and he would win them
all. His hooves were made for kicking, and he broke multiple people’s ribs, legs, and
arms. Jason couldn’t control himself in a fight. He would often show up to school
drunk, and be out of control often, so often he was suspended for a few days or
even weeks at a time.
Additionally, a secret began to form in Jason’s mind. Jason is gay, and his
family, and some of the people he hung out with, were clearly not very accepting of
that community. He began to experiment as often as he could, primarily when he
was the last one left at a party, so far the only people he’s told are the couple of men
he’s dated, and it’s a secret that is still closely guarded to his chest. Not even his
best friends know it at the moment, though he doesn’t really try to hide it from
them as much
Jason was clearly going down a spiraling series of behaviors, he needed
Something eye opening, and it happened. Jason got in a car after a party with some
other drunk people, a few of his teammates, and their girlfriends, as he sat just
waiting for the ride to be over with. The driver never had a chance to react as the
car was slammed by a truck head-on. Jason made it out arguably the second worst,
shielding a number of people from the impact as best he could.
He was paralyzed from the waist down for awhile, his dad didn’t even show
up to the hospital to check if he was okay, only calling the phone. Jason waited, and
surprisingly… overnight he got better. Vines grew around his legs, and by morning
they were fully healed again. As he tried to get news of what had happened, he’d
learned that tragically, the driver had passed away, killed on impact.
This all happened during the summer of Jason’s Sophmore year. And going
into Junior year, Jason was a changed man. Or he tried to be. He slipped into old
habits every so often with a couple friends, but instead of causing the fights, Jason
tried to disrupt them, instead of being drunk at parties, he would drive everyone
home after. He worked harder at track, but joined with the band again. Excited to
work ten times as hard with everything, he understands the fragility of everything
going on, and wants to do his best to make every day wonderful.
Jason has recently graduated, he has a scholarship to a prestigious university
far away from his hometown thanks to his athletic pursuits, and wants to make this
summer the best possible one he can.
Minor Trivia:
- As stated, Jason is gay, though he is experimenting still, not fully confident in
his sexuality
- Classes that Jason could possibly be, include
- Bard: My default for him right now. He really wants to be a musician in
college, and getting a jumpstart would be awesome
- Warlock: If mom reaches out, the vines were probably her doing and
she might want to call in on that favor.
- Barbarian: Jason has a lot of pent up anger, and if he goes into old
habits pretty quickly, it’s certainly possible he could become a
barbarian
- Paladin: This is almost entirely because Oath of Glory exists and feels
very athlete-like.
- Jason does live with his dad, but spends most nights at a friends house or
somewhere else.
- Jason’s chosen feat is Mobile… Because… it makes sense.

Characters:
- Jason (He/They): Me!
- Robert Bleeker (He/Him): Jason’s father and an overall shitty person
- Loriander (She/They): Jason’s Mother, a Morphling from the feywild. Another
pretty crappy person, walked out on Jason and Robert at a young age.
- Maria (She/Her): Not explicitly mentioned by name in the story. But the
name of the woman killed in the car accident that temporarily paralyzed
Jason
- Marcus, Joe, Jerry, Tim: Miscellaneous track team members. Good friends of
Jason
- Daniel: Again, not explicitly mentioned, .couldn’t find a great spot to mention
him. But Daniel is Jason’s first boyfriend and ex, the two are on okay terms
still.
