Arts Gallery Meet and Greet
Wyatt Collins
This afternoon 4-7pm, meet Wyatt Col-
lins and his art at the NV Community Arts
Council gallery. Wyatt’s mom, Rona Ster-
ling Collins, is making saskatoon berry lem-
onade and saying a few words about 5pm.
The exhibit, Our Tmixw – Celebrating
the Land We Are On, is on now until Octo-
ber 15. Wyatt, an Nłe?kepmx artist in our

Forestry projects to
utilize waste wood or
mitigate wildfire risk
The Forest Enhancement Society of
BC (FESBC), announced 42 newly fund-
ed forest enhancement projects, through-
out the province, which will either assist
with the delivery of uneconomic forest
fibre to pulp and pellet mills or green en-
ergy facilities or will help communities
reduce their wildfire risk.
Among the projects, 7 are located in
the Thompson Okanagan region — lo-
cally, a joint project between Stuwix
Resources & Valley Carriers for a Bush
Grind Program. The project will receive
$821,668 in FESBC funding to grind
waste material in slash piles for ship-
ment to the energy facility in Merritt.
These newly funded projects come as
a result of the $50 million given to FESBC
earlier this year by the Ministry of Forests to
