You are on page 1of 2

For preparing you can solve previous years ISRO/BARC/DRDO and GATE 1 marks

questions.

Maths & English - Paper 1

Only maths n English are there No Apti so, only focus on English and Maths and it's
better if you score well in paper 1 that will be big advantage for overall score as
(paper1+paper2) marks are considered for selection .Mostly spotting errors,
antonyms and filling the correct word based questions are asked in English section.

Maths- mostly formula based questions are asked. As far as I remember topics-

1. Probability questions.(probability + matirice imp)

2. Complex variable , residue questions like residue of z2 e^(1/z) .

3. Partial differential equation .

4. Questions on span like u,v,w is given and find span of w .

5 eigen vectors linearly independent.

6 series sum was given and to find out convergence and divergence like £ (x-1)! /
n^n.

These were the topics from which questions were there in Exam. For preparing you
can solve previous years ISRO/BARC/DRDO and GATE 1 marks questions.

Bits HD paper -2

Exam is easy, mostly theory based questions are asked and very less numericals are
there.

8-10 questions from software engineering, just solve PYQ's questions from ISRO/BARC
.

4-5 questions from AI topics like A* and heuristic search and learning agents
questions are asked.

PLA based questions like about OR and AND gate fusion and structures .

Rest for all the subjects just prepare GATE syllabus and solve previous year
questions (mainly 1 mark questions).

That will be sufficient to get good marks in BITS Exam.

All The Best .

-----------------------------------------------------

2. Theory questions on AI
3. Questions on 8086 microprocessors
4. Questions related to OOPS and UML (if you are appearing for Software Systems)
5. Questions from OS - File Systems

Apart from CS, you may also focus on calculus (and beta functions etc.) while
preparing for Maths.
------------------------------------------------------

If you have gate level knowledge , you can clear bits-hd but there are large number
of students at that level :)

Don’t leave maths as I have emphasized that in many answers.Maths is a key for
selection

Now the point, if you have not given/prepared gate,

Study DS,Algo first

Then CN,Dbms
Then TOC,OS
Then go for DE,CO
Don’t leave Maths (Calculus,Probability, Stats)

----------------------------------

For Cs focus on

DS and ALGO(Tree-Graph Traversals,Spanning Tree,Balanced Trees)

CN(Data Link,Network Layer)
OS(Process and Memory Management)
DE(Logic Gates,Combinational and Sequential)
DBMS(ERD,Normalization,Transaction and Concurrency Control,B,B+ Trees)
TOC(Regular Grammar and Expression,Automata)
