Write the Brief outline of the Major Processes in the Corrections System with is meaning

The corrections system refers to the network of facilities, programs, and services that aim to
rehabilitate and punish convicted offenders. In general, the process begins with the arrest of a
suspect and their subsequent booking and detention. The accused is then arraigned and enters a
plea before undergoing a pretrial hearing or trial. If convicted, the offender is sentenced and
transferred to a correctional facility. Inside correctional institutions, inmates undergo various
programs and interventions designed to manage risk, improve behavior, and reduce recidivism.
During their incarceration, correctional officials conduct inmate assessments, reviews, and
monitoring to ensure that they comply with institutional rules and regulations. Upon release, the
offender may receive support services to ease their re-entry to society. Effective correctional
administration should ensure that these processes are carried out in a humane, efficient, and just
manner.
