audio quality.
Introduction:
Online Meeting Platforms are becoming more popular due to the Pandemic. Every activity is
done through online meeting platforms. All Schools, Colleges are using online platforms for
teaching, communicating with students etc. Various companies are also using online
platforms for communicating with each other. So, there is sudden increase in traffic for these
platforms & it has both its cons and pros. Nowadays, there are many ups and downs in
security, privacy of many popular online meeting platforms but at the same time online
education is giving self-pace environment to both students and teachers. It is very easy to
setup meetings at any suitable time and just by sharing the link or Id and passcode attendees
can join the meeting. Many students who may not be able to come for offline lectures due to
different reasons are comfortable in attending online meetings. Online meetings reduced the
location and distance barrier for getting the education. Students are registering different
online certification courses and getting the extra knowledge about their interest area and it is
very easy due to online education. The study is aimed to find out which online meeting
platform students are feeling easy and comfortable for e-learning.
Literature Review:
As per the review of the literature, the choice of online meeting platforms depends on many
factors like, computer literacy, awareness of technology, availability of the resources, etc.
In the article Review of Online Teaching Platforms in the Current Period of COVID-19
Pandemic authors explained the various meeting platforms and given their advantages and
disadvantages.[1] Other factors like attendees limit and cost of the online platforms are also
important while selecting it.
Objectives of Research:
To identify various online meeting platforms through which students are studying.
To study the comparative analysis of various online meeting platforms.
Research Methodology:
Research Type Descriptive Research
It is found that 3 platforms namely Zoom, MS Team It is found that Zoom is giving more facilities.
and Google Meet satisfy the security criteria and in
these 3 Zoom got more responses.
It is found that 49% students’ opinion is Zoom
It is found that 67.7% school and colleges used zoom
has better audio quality.
for online meetings.
From the data collected, it is observed that zoom is the most liked and used platform for
online meetings.
Hypothesis of Research:
Null Hypothesis (H0): Selection of online meeting platform is not based on security.
Alternative Hypothesis (H1): Selection of online meeting platform is based on security.
Findings:
From the above study, following are the findings –
Zoom, MS Team, Google Meet, Go To Meeting, etc. are the most popular online
meeting platforms used by students.
Zoom is more preferable and easier to use platform.
As per the survey zoom is having best audio, video and recording quality.
Even if security is one of the important criteria for selection of online meeting
platform, as per the hypothesis testing it is not considered by students for selecting the
online meeting platforms.
Conclusion:
Due to COVID 19 pandemic shifting education from offline to online is the need. There are
various platforms available for meeting online for education purpose like Zoom, MS Team
and Google Meet, Go To Meeting, etc. Through this study, a survey is conducted and based
on that it is found that students are comfortable with Zoom platform for online meeting or e
learning. As per the hypothesis, testing it is derived that the selection of online meeting
platform is not based on security, whereas security is one of the important criteria for
selection but still ease of use is more important for the student than the security. So, the most
popular online meeting platforms used by students is Zoom.
