CRIME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MZUZU POLICE STATION
DUE DATE

INTRODUCTION
The need for good record-keeping and information-sharing practices has taken on great
significance in today's global environment. Not only do well-organized records provide
important internal information (i.e., business operations and case management support not to
forget the official memory of an agency's investigations), law enforcement agencies are now
required to communicate agency-to-agency and across continents to protect the Nation's citizens.
Nothing is more necessary to accomplishing that mission than having accessibility to accurate
and timely records. Calls for service records and investigative, arrest, criminal identification,
detention, and even civil records hold data that by themselves mean little; however, once pieced
together with information from other jurisdictions, the result can help with all levels of
investigations and aid in safeguarding the Nation of Malawi mostly on law enforcers [1].
Because of unsafe keeping of data and poor management of crimes in Mzuzu Police, online web
application management system will help to solve different problems at Mzuzu Police.

PROBLEM STATEMNT

To design a program for the police department to easily access the criminals’ records online and
analyze the crime rate of a particular area along with some other additional features [2]. The
crime management system can help in storing the records related to the criminal, cases,
complaints record and case history. All these records can be maintained in a single database.
The research on this will help not to have the problem of data loss as many files get lost when
manually system is used in different law infesters.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

To design a program for the Mzuzu police department to easily access criminals’ records online
and analyze crime rate of a particular area[3]. If anybody wants to complaint against crimes he
must do it through the police.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

Only the administrator and the station in charge of different police stations will be able to login
to their home pages. The citizen could only report crimes and knows whether the crime reported
by him has been accepted. The objective of the project is to develop a site in which any citizen
can report crimes The crime management make the crime reporting easier. This project will be
useful for the police department. Any record concerning police department of Mzuzu will be
stored on using this system lather storing them in files which make them difficult to restore when
stolen.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Behavioral analysis of crime against women using a graph Based clustering approach.2017
International Conference on Computer Communication and Information (ICCI): Crime against
women is increasing at an alarming rate in almost all parts of India and women in the Indian
Society This system is designed for particular need of the company to carry out operations in a
smooth and effective manner [1]. The application is reduced as much as possible to avoid errors
while entering the data. And it also provides error message while entering invalid data. No
formal knowledge is needed for the user to use this system and hence it proves it is user friendly.
Online crime reporting system can lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast management
system and it can assist the user to concentrate on the other activities rather than to concentrate
on the record keeping. The purpose of the project is to automate the existing manual system with
the help of computerized equipment’s and to fulfill the requirements so that the data can be
stored for long period with easy accessing and manipulation. have been victims of humiliation,
torture and exploitation. It has even existed in the past but only in the recent years the issues
have been brought to the open for concern [4]. According to the latest data released by the
National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), crimes against women have increased more than
doubled over the past ten years. While a number of analyses have been done in the field of crime
pattern detection, none have done an extensive study on the crime against women in India. The
present paper describes a behavioral analysis of crime against women in India from the year
2001 to 2014[5]. The study evaluates the efficacy of Info map clustering algorithm for detecting
communities of states and union territories in India based on crimes. As it is a graph based
clustering approach, all the states of India along with the union territories have been considered
as nodes of the graph and similarity among the nodes have been measured based on different
types of crimes. Each community is a group of states or union territories which are similar based
on crime trends. Initially, the method finds the communities based on current year crime data,
subsequently at the end of a year when new crime data for Special Issue Published in Int. Jul. Of

METHODOLOGY TO USE

In this project of crime management system, waterfall methodology of software management

system will be used. Waterfall methodology is the software development life cycle which is a
sequential development process that flows like a waterfall through all phases of a project [6].
These phases will be analyzing the project, designing developing and testing the project. This
methodology which will be used, phases will be followed step by step without skipping one of
them.
