The Cancerean Person

One born at the time when the sign Cancer rises at the eastern horizon (i.e. on the 1st cusp) becomes a
Cancerean person. Cancer or an Indian Rasi Karka (or Karkatta), the 4th sign of the natural zodiac,
corresponding to the 4th house of a Kundali, is an abode of Queen Luminary, the exaltation house of the great
benevolent Jupiter but the debilitation sign of fiery Mars. The Cancer is a movable, mute, watery, feminine,
fruitful, nocturnal, prishtodaya rising sign representing Crab, Brahmin caste, weak vitality, white or blue
colour, North direction, breast, chest, lungs, upper part of the stomach, heart, digestion, etc. owned by the fast
moving, changeable, romantic, emotional, sensitive, perceptive, adaptable, watery, dreamy, affectionate,
idealistic, mother, the Moon.
The Cancerean person is physically short to average statured with a delicate appearance, an effeminate
constitution, fair or pale complexion, a large upper part of the body, wide chest, a prominent abdomen, full
face, broad forehead, large mouth, nose prominent at tip, slender limbs, long arms, awkward gait, a tendency to
corpulence.
The cancerean person seems calm and quite outwardly but boiling with emotions inside deeply. He may
appear open and frank at a glance but actually he hides much inside. He has hard out but soft inner. He is
shrewd, careful, industrious and economical; hence a good businessman. He is frugal and never extravagant.
He has strong instinct for personal gain He is always over-anxious about future and money. He is over-cautious
and is liable to extremes. He is possessive, determined and unforgiving but can be easily conquered by
kindness.
The Cancerean person is changeable, restless and moveable, hence usually leads a wandering life. He is
very sensitive both physically and mentally. There will be many ups and downs as well as changes in his life.
He is selfish, fickle and nervous. He is impatient, conventional and diplomatic.
He has psychic and mediumistic faculties with good intuitive power. He is timid, unassuming and retiring.
He may be usually and easily influenced by others. He is magnetic and quickly absorbs the thoughts of others.
He can adjust himself to anywhere, hence adaptable. The Cancerean person is very much attached to home,
family, children, relatives and household affairs. He is full of maternal spirit and is true devotee of mother and
motherland. He will become very restless till he reaches the home while returning from a journey. He is
warmhearted, social and well known for his hospitality. He desires for peace, easy-going and comforts. He is
cool, sympathetic, affectionate and gentle yet firm. He is fond of changes, novelties, adventures, traveling
mysteries, poetry, fine arts etc.
The Cancerean person is self-made with deep feeling of responsibility. He possesses a changeable temper
but fertile imagination. He has tenacity of purpose. He loves power, fame and recognition. He is honest and has
love for justice and fair-play. He becomes peevish if overlooked. His feelings get easily hurt. He looks
everything from idealistic point of view. He is unable to demonstrate hence often misunderstood by others. He
has much inclination for public life. He is more dreamer than a worker. He often suffers from inferiority
complex.
The Cancerean person mostly does not enjoy common marital happiness due to some reasons or others. His
married and family life is seldom happy. However he is a good, loyal affectionate and sacrificing lover. He has
good memory and never forgets the past and harm done by others. He is in the habit of collecting old things.
He has a strong love for the past and usually tells about past events of his life to his children. He often gets lost
in the moments of past. He is shy, lazy and gloomy. He usually wastes his time, talent and energy. He often
misses many opportunities because of too much thinking repeatedly over a thing. He is often not clear in his
mind as what he actually wants. He is cold and distrustful for strangers as well as opponents.
Great personalities are usually the Cancerean people. Some of the notable Cancerean people are Bhagwan
Shree Ram Chandra, Shree Gautama Budha, Shree Adi Shankaracharya. Lokmany Tilak, Shree Madan Mohan
Malviya, Shree Aurobindo Ghosh, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Shree Kamraj, Raj, etc.
Some yogas on planetary disposition for the Cancerean person

1. The Sun:
A. The Sun although the lord of the 2nd house, yet he does not kill the Cancerean.
B. The Sun with Mars in the 10th house gives much wealth but Dasa
of Jupiter will kill the Cancerean person.
2. The Moon:
A. The Moon being the Lagna lord is a benefic for the Cancerean.
B. The Cancerean person is much attached to the significators of that house where the Moon is situated.
C. The Moon, if associated with Mars will give good results.
D. The Moon with Jupiter in the Lagna makes the Cancerean native famous and fortunate.
E. The Moon in the Lagna and either Saturn in the 4th, Mars in the 7th or the Sun in the 10th house will
give rise to Raja-yoga results.

3. Mars:
A. Mars as lord of 5th (trine and 10th (kendra) houses becomes an unsullied Yoga-karaka, i.e. the most
beneficial planet for the Cancerean.
B. Such a benefic Mars will increase the significations of the house wherever he occupies or aspects.
C. Mars even alone in the 5th, 7th or 10th house will give much progress to the Cancerean.
D. Mars in the 10th and Jupiter in the Lagna will make a the native a king or likes.
E. Mars in the Lagna although Neecha yet gives good results to the Cancerean.

4. Mercury:
A. Mercury as lord of the 3rd and 12th houses becomes not only a great malefic but may also behave as a
Maraka planet for the Cancerean.
B. If Mercury alone is in the 5th house the Cancerean becomes a very wealthy man in his Dasa.
C. If Mercury and Venus are in the 5th house the Dasa of Mercury will give rise to Raja-yoga results.
D. If Mercury and Venus are in the 12th house the Dasa of Venus will give rise to Raja-yoga results.

5. Jupiter:
A. Jupiter as lord of the 6th (Moolatrikona Sign) and 9th (Trikona House) is only a partial benefic and not
an Yoga-karaka planet for the Cancerean person,
hence always gives mixed results.
B. If Jupiter is in the Lagna and Venus is in the 9th house, the Cancerean will be very successful in all of
his efforts.

6. Venus:
A. Venus as a natural benefic being the lord of the 4th (a kendra) and 11th house becomes a badhaka planet
for the Cancerean.
B. Venus is a malefic, even becomes a Maraka planet for the Cancerean.
C. Venus will give good result and makes the Cancerean much wealthy if she is placed in the 2nd or the
12th house.
D. Venus in the 4th or 9th house provides the Cancerean many vehicles.
E. Venus in the 12th house forces the Cancerean to leave his native place.

7. Saturn:
A. Saturn as lord of the 7th and 8th houses not only becomes a worst malefic, but also a powerful Maraka
for the Cancerean.
B. A malefic if associated with Saturn also becomes a Maraka.
C. A strong Saturn makes the Cancerean person long lived.
D. Saturn usually gives good results if placed in the 3rd, 4th, 7th or 8th.
E. Saurn in own sign decreases the marital happiness of the Cancerean.

8. Miscellaneous:
 A. If the Moon, Mars and Jupiter are in the 2nd house and the Sun and Venus are in the 5th house the
Cancerean will be much famous, wealthy and fortunate.
B. If Jupiter is in the Lagna, Saturn in the 10th house and the Moon, Mercury and Venus are in the 11th
house the Cncerean will be a famous king.
C. If the Moon is in the Lagna, Saturn in the 4th house and Mars in the 7th or 10th house the Cancerean
becomes a king.
D. If Jupiter is in the Lagna, the Sun is in the 10th house and Mercury and Venus are in the 11th house the
Cancerean will become a king.
E. If Jupiter is in the Lagna, Saturn is in the 4th house and Mars is in the 7th house the Cancerean becomes
a king.
