This chapter explains the short background of the study. It also covers the
theoretical and conceptual framework, statement of the problem, the significance
of the study, scope and delimition, and hypothesis.
Introduction
This study aims to avoid making contact with students outside of the school setting,
including social media. This prevents the connection of students and teachers
especially outside the classroom environment. The prevention of this act will
benefit their emotional state to balance and integrate the relationship of the teacher
and student in a professional and appropriate manner.
The directive is among the provisions of DepEd Order 49 dated Nov. 2, amending a
previous order on the promotion of professionalism in the delivery of basic
education programs and services. DepEd recently launched a hotline where
students can directly report incidents of abuse, amid allegations of sexual
harassment against teachers in several schools. The Vice President Duterte said that
there should be a clear separation between teachers and students to avoid
controversies. She added a personal relationship between a teacher and a student
could lead to bias towards the learner. Of course, we have problems with
relationships. There were also incidents where student teachers hang out with their
students and they end up getting involved in an inappropriate scandal .
Students not being able to communicate with teachers after class unless they're
relatives "DepED ORDINANCE NO. 49." may cause negative impacts. Many students
will have a hard time communicating with their teachers because school hours are
limited and both students and teachers having a short time interacting with each
other will cause a noticeable impact and effects. We conducted this research
because of it's negative effects and changes around the education system. Although
this ordinance is already published, some students and teachers doesn’t know that
this ordinance exists. So in the other hand, we're going to tackle each downside,
negative effects, impacts, benefits of this ordinance. Will we get positive feedbacks?
Or it's just another bad ordinance that has been published. Even though some
people consider it as a bad ordinance, it should've been published in the public at
the first place if it’s just a goofy ordinance right? And that is the purpose of our
research. We’re going to clarify the real purpose of this ordinance and how will it
change our education system. We can start step by step on clarifying this question
by asking questions to our random respondents.
