WHAT WE’RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT

 DNA Center on-premises integration with

 Catalyst 9800 (9800-CL)
 DNA Center CMX integration

 Things to note when troubleshooting

WHAT WE’RE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT

 This is not a 1-hour session on how to pass an 8-hour lab

 This is Cisco material, not a VMware/AWS/KVM material
 This is not a marketing webinar – no Cisco datasheets
 DNA Center positioning, etc (you should already know this!)
 This is not going to cover SDA/Fabric, or ISE integration
 This is not going to cover how to get DNA Center into your lab:
 dCloud, VM, etc (this was discussed on the last webinar)
 Our gear is where we last left it – online with APs & clients
 Things we do in the lab are sometimes not Best Practices
 Lab strategy is about speed and accuracy

WHAT WE’RE GOING TO BE DOING

 Configuring management on 9800-CLs

 Configuring prerequisite DNA Center options
 Inventory importing (WLC and APs)
 Discover, Assign, Configure – Oh my!

 Ideally, we arrive at a DNA Center deployment that is displaying management data about the network
A QUICK REFRESHER

1. Discover and manage the network devices – switches, routers, and wireless controllers (WLCs).
2. Assign network devices to sites.
3. Configure network devices for telemetry with Optimal Visibility within Cisco DNA Center.
IT’S WORTH REMEMBERING

 DNA Center is a complex product that does more than what we’re going to see here
 You will see things on the lab that we’re not covering here today
 We will cover things here today that you will not see in the lab

 Cisco has a storied past with NMS products

 AireOS had WCS/WCS Navigator
 Then NCS (Network Control System)
 Then Prime Infrastructure
 Now DNA Center
 It’s exceedingly difficult to be an expert at a new product
BUCKLE UP!

 Let’s see what we can break…

 Pay attention to the following:

 The blueprint
 DNA Center software versions
 NTP
 Console output from 9800-CL (particularly around auth & netconf messages)
 Preconfiguration tasks in DNA Center
 Time investment for getting DNA Center tasks accomplished
Tech Tip: The network administrator should see telemetry from their devices approximately 25 minutes from the time that the devices are
added to the inventory and telemetry is enabled.
