Symptom
The target release is 7.50 or higher. The respective CTC Configuration Wizard asks whether you want to
enable "Integration Gateway component" or not. Also CTC Wizard "PI Cloud Integration Content" demands
this input.
Other Terms
have become part of PI/PO/AEX. By default, the respective applications, libraries and services are disabled
by the automated configuration. The technical names of the new components start with:
• com.sap.aii.igw.*
In older Support Packages of release 7.50 the NWA Monitor displays the status of such applications as
"stopped" and "implicit stopped (dependency failed)". It looks as if an error has appeared, but this is not the
case. This erroneous display behaviour has been fixed with SAP Note 2309675. If you haven't enabled
"Cloud Integration Content" it is correct that these components are stopped.
To enable or disable the "Cloud Integration Content" with hindsight, execute CTC Wizard "PI Cloud
Integration Content" (see SAP Note 2201086).
Manual Configuration
In case you want to perform the "Integration Gateway component" enablement manually, the steps below
have to be executed. Pay attention that the steps are slightly different for PI and PO/AEX installations.
Log on the SAP Weaver Administrator (NWA) https://<host>:<port>/nwa with an Admin user.
• PO/AEX Installation: Navigate in NWA to Configuration --> Infrastructure --> Java System Properties --
> "Services" tab. Select Service "XPI Service: AII Config". Set property "com.sap.aii.connect.igw" to
true.
• PI Installation: Navigate to https://<host>:<port>/dir --> Adminstration --> Exchange Profile -->
Connections. Set property "com.sap.aii.connect.igw" to true.
• Navigate in NWA to Configuration --> Infrastructure --> Java System Properties --> "System VM
Parameters" tab. Create parameter "com.sap.it.wn.enable.tracing" with value true.
• Navigate in NWA to Configuration --> Infrastructure --> Java System Properties --> "Show Advanced
Properties" button. Select the "Filters" tab. Set the following filters (Action | Component | Vendor Mask |
Name Mask):
• start | application | sap.com | com.sap.aii.igw.*
• start | library | sap.com | com.sap.aii.igw.*
• start | service | sap.com | com.sap.aii.igw.*
• start | application | sap.com | tc~igw~*
• start | application | sap.com | com.sap.aii.igw.monitoring.ui.app
Note: Application "sap.com/com.sap.aii.igw.monitoring.ui.app" must always be started, also in case you don't
want to use "Cloud Integration Content". Otherwise application "sap.com/tc~lm~itsam~co~ui~xi~msg~wd"
doesn't start (PI Message Monitor). See SAP Note 2332763.
You have to restart the Java system after you have done the changes.
Solution
Enabling "Integration Gateway component" is only required in case you own a respective SAP Cloud Tenant.
Otherwise leave it disabled. You can enable this feature any time by applying Wizard "PI Cloud Integration
Content". A re-execution of the Initial Setup or Upgrade CTC Wizards is not needed.
