1. Make 5 HDC in a magic ring. If you don’t know how to make a magic ring, go here:
http://annemarieshaakblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-make-magic-ring.html
2. Close the ring by doing 1 slip stitch in the first HDC. Change colour while doing so.
3. Make 2 SC in every stitch around. (10)
4. *** Make 1 SC, increase.***
Repeat what between *** until you’ve gone round. (15) After the last stitch, change colour.1
5. *** Make 2SC, increase. ***
Repeat what between *** until you’ve gone round. (20)
6. *** Make 3SC, increase. ***
Repeat what between *** until you’ve gone round. (25)
Now you’ll start making the points of the star.
7. SC5, chain 1. Turn.
8. SC5, chain 1. Turn.
9. SC5, chain 1. Turn.
10. Decrease, SC3. (4)
11. Decrease, SC2. (3)
12. Decrease, SC1. (2)
Now fasten off.

13. Now attach the thread to the next stitch. After doing that, repeat rows 7 – 12. Repeat this until
you have five points. After making point no. 5, don’t fasten off. Instead, change colour.

If you’re not sure how to change colour, go here for a tutorial:
http://annemarieshaakblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-change-colour.html
14. Now you’ll go round by making 5SC on every side of each point. On top of every point, you
make 1SC. See the next 2 images.

15. When you’ve gone round, fasten off. Now place both halves on top of each other facing the
right side up. Make sure all threads are on the inside.
16. Now place your crochet hook in a corner (see next picture). Make sure to use the same SC’s
and use both loops of the stitch.

17. Now go round with SC’s. Make sure to use every SC and make sure to use the same SC’s every
time. Also, make sure to use both loops of every SC. When you’re at the last point, fill your star.
Make sure all threads are on the inside of the star.

Last but not least

Designing crochet patterns is a time-consuming and difficult job. I'd love to see you make as
many stars as you like for yourself or to give as a gifts. But please do not make copies of this
pattern, don’t distribute this pattern, don’t share it and don’t sell it as if it is your design. If you
post your own star somewhere on the WorldWideWeb, I’d love it if you refer to my shop.
