EARTH 101

Our home planet, Earth. Known as the “world” and the only astronomical
object in the Universe known to harbor life. It’s such a fun existing in this world,
but little did we know that this phenomena holds the past, present and the future of
our existence? This video from the National Geographic explained the formation
and evolution of known called “Blue Planet”.

This terrestrial planet formed from the particles leftover from the creation of
sun. When gravity pulled swirling gas and dust in to become the third planet from
the sun which plays an important role in Earth’s temperature. It is the right distance
from the sun, not too hot or too cold. The planet’s position enables temperatures
that support liquid water, and therefore, life. About 75% of the Earth’s surface is
covered with liquid water and ice that hydrates, creates and sustains the ecosystem
on which all life depends. That’s why it is called the “Blue Planet”. When there’s
water, there’s life.

I therefore conclude that this creation from the Universe is discovered, but a
place to have millions and billions of discoveries. From having a unique global
ecosystem which may support life, our lives. Planet Earth is not just an existing
planet, but a planet for existence.
