General informatioin
Wear personal protective equipment for all tasks (protective work clothing, safety shoes, gloves).
Only for specialists.

Intended usage
The GRAVIMAX G dosing unit is intended for the dosing and mixing of multiple plastic granulates. The dispensing of other substances such
as foods, sand, earth, powder, etc. is prohibited.
Do not use any granulates having a Ø ≤ 1mm, this can cause leakage and inaccuracies during weighing.

Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH assumes no liability for personal injury and/or material damage due to:
§ Improper operation
§ Usage for purposes other than those intended
§ Changes to the device without the authorisation of Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH
§ Non-compliance with the maintenance intervals
§ Usage of parts from other manufacturers without the authorisation of Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH
§ Damage caused by inadequately qualified personnel
§ Non-compliance with the technical documentation

Warnings
DANGER!
Mortal danger due to uncontrolled reactivation
Uncontrolled reactivation can lead to serious or personal injury or death.
Ensure that the cause of the Emergency Stop has been eliminated and all safety devices installed and functional before restarting
the device.
Do not restart the device until the danger and its source have been eliminated.
DANGER!
Risk to life due to electrical voltage
Provide a main fuse which interrupts the device's electrical power supply.
Disconnect the device from the electrical power supply before any work is performed on the device.
DANGER!
Material damage and serious or even fatal injuries due to accidental start-up.
Take suitable actions to prevent accidental start-up of the device during all repair, cleaning, servicing and maintenance work.
Attach warning signs or set up barriers.
Convince yourself of its operational readiness before restarting the machine.

Possible injury due to heavy device/component
Use suitable equipment (crane, forklift, etc.).
WARNING!
Possible injury or damage to the device due to transport and lifting equipment
Solely appropriately qualified personnel may operate transport and lifting equipment.
WARNING!
Possible injury or damage to the device due to tipping over
Do not climb onto the device.
WARNING!
Possible hazardous situation due to falling parts
Manually tighten the knurled screws.
WARNING!
Possible hazardous injury due to interrupted safety devices
Secure the device to ensure that nobody can reach into the device during the EA Test.
CAUTION!
Possible machine damage and risk of burns due to loose connections
Inspect all of the electrical connections (terminal boards, etc.) on an annual basis.
CAUTION!
Possible minor injury due to lowering of the lifting gear
Ensure that no body parts are located between the material hopper and the lifting gear.
CAUTION!
Possible hazardous situation due to detached or sagging cables
Lay the cables in such a way that no risk of stumbling exists and that nobody can become caught in them.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the system
Every other usage of the device is prohibited.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device due to unauthorised settings
Change the password for the Admin.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device due to non-original spare and wear parts
Always use original spare and wear parts from Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH.

Use only your finger or a stylus intended for this purpose to operate the screen interface.

 Never place the remote control on wet/dirty surfaces and make sure that it doesn't fall on the floor.
IMPORTANT
Damage to the device caused by sharp or pointed objects
Do not use any sharp or pointed objects - they can damage the surfaces and the device itself.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device due to detached or sagging cables
Lay the cables in such a way that the device does not fall down or become accidentally disconnected from the power supply lines.
IMPORTANT
Malfunction and damage due to metal parts or transport locks
Remove any possible parts from the device.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device; metal comes into contact with metal
Grease the PUR caps on a regular basis, replace worn PUR caps.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the pneumatic cylinder
Ensure that the device is not overloaded.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage due to excess pressure or too little clearance
Ensure that the compressed air is always ≤ 6 mbar and the distance to the object to be cleaned ≥ 5 cm.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device due to rolling away
Apply the locking brake to prevent the device from rolling away during production.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device due to tipping over
Do not move the device when it is filled with material. The changed centre of gravity can cause it to tip over.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to downstream devices
Take care to ensure that no small parts (screws, nuts, etc.) fall into the downstream devices. Tighten all of the parts by hand.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to load cells
Load cells are sensitive components. Contact the service technicians at Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH to have the load cells
replaced and calibrated by specialised technicians.

About this operating instruction

This operating instruction assumes that the device starts running under the following conditions:

§ Install the device solely in closed and dry rooms/halls which can be ventilated.
§ Prevent drafts and abrupt deviations in temperature and humidity.
§ Consider the stability of the installation site, particularly when installing the device on platforms.
§ The substrate must be horizontal and free of vibration and disturbances.
§ The room (building) floors must not have any stumbling hazards. Floors must be level, non-slip, dry and easy-to-clean.
§ Ensure that all parts of the device remain accessible for servicing and repair work.

Installation
Check dosing device:
- Content: Dosing device, operation manual on CD
- Do not connect the power cord.
- Check dosing device for transport damages.
- Dosing devices have a high weight. Carry only with appropriate machinery.
- In cases of doubt contact Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH-technicians for setup.
- Do not lift devices on exposing components.

Preparing power connection:

- Have the device connection properly to AC power outlet socket, as otherwise a safe operation is not given.
- Only use earth leakage circuit breaker with this symbol: .
- Power connector and socket must fit together.
- Do not use distributor outlets or connectors.
- Do not touch connector with moist hands.
- Do not pull power cord from socket on the cable.
- Do not damage the power cord.

Placing dosing device:

- The main switch needs to be accessible at any time.
- Remove the transport and protective packaging.
- Install mixing bin and weighing bin.
- Keep the reote control ready.
- Connect all power supplies.
- Keep the device accessible for maintenance and repair requirements.
- Keep the enviroment of the loader clean.

Preparing
Dosing
Check dosing device Never operate a damaged dosing device.
Inform your service contact.
Mount the material hoppers correctly.
Plug in power supply Touch the plug only with dry hands.
Connect compressed air Use only oil free, cleaned and drained compressed air.
Fill in granule Clean material hopper before filling.

1. Turn the main switch on the side of the device
2. The remote control starts and the following display appears:

3. Press „scale calibration“.

5. Hang the supplied reference weight (on the inside of the door) in the bracket provided for this in the centre of the weighing bin.
Use the numerical keyboard to enter the weight engraved on the top of the reference weight in the "Enter the reference weight"
6. field.
7. Use the button to confirm the value.
8. Return the reference weight to the inside of the door.

Recipe
Create recipe
1. Press button .
Select tab „Main“, the following display appears:
Select the material typ for the material hopper.

Select the appropriate percent value.

Select option „Auto“ to activate the relationship between regrind and virgin.

Select „Regrind mode“, when regrind is not always available. The mixing
proportion will be adjusted automatically. After an adjustable period of batches
will be checked if regrind is available again. If yes, the original recipe is called
automatically.
