VERB TO BE (PRESENT)

El verbo to be es el verbo ser o estar en castellano. Es un verbo muy irregular.

Forma afirmativa:
I am / I’m Yo soy (estoy)
You are / You’re Tú eres (estás)
He is / He’s Él es (está)
She is / She’s Ella es (está)
It is / It’s Ello (neutro) es,
está
We are / We’re Nosotros somos
(estamos)
You are / You’re Vosotros sois
(estáis)
They are / They’re Ellos son (están)

Forma negativa:
I am not / I’m not
You are not / You aren’t
He is not / He isn’t
She is not / She isn’t
It is not / It isn’t
We are not / We aren’t
You are not / You aren’t
They are not / They aren’t

Forma interrogativa:
Am I……..?
Are you…….?
Is he……….?
Is she………?
Is it……….?
Are we………?
Are you……….?
Are they………?
Ejemplos: John is an engineer. (John es ingeniero)
We aren’t at home. (No estamos en casa)
They are happy. (Ellos están contentos)

También se utiliza para decir la edad, aunque en castellano usamos el verbo tener.
My son is fifteen years old. (Mi hijo tiene quince años)
