Answer Plan for ROL!

 Define what Rule of law is!! It’s a constitutional principle and considered as a doctrine of
fundamental importance which is central in the United Kingdom’s unique constitutional setup.
The difficulty stems from the fact that the rule of law means different things to different people,
which is already highlighted above in the question. See for example, T R S Allan (1993) has
noted that, ‘[i]n the mouth of a British constitutional lawyer, the term “rule of law” seems to
mean primarily a corpus of basic principles and values, which together lend some stability and
coherence to the legal order’.
 Then after defining Rule of Law, kindly address the historical development of Rule of Law from
the U.k’s prospect, that is from Magna Carta 1215 till Constitutional Reforms Act 2005 (iska
section 1 dekh laina comment section main). Kindly keep this very brief, ziyada likhna nai ha!
 Then, after writing this, then explain what Aristotle and Cicero say upon Rule of Law (ye yougurt
google kar laina or read Chapter 3 of Rule of Law from Barnett especially sub-heading The Rule
of Law as philosophical doctrine).
 Phir explain A.V Dicey’s 3 limbs on Rule of Law (u can refer it from anywhere but khuda ky
wastay uska source bta daina kahan sy likha ha, don’t use Lawteacher!)
 Then explain the argument of Content-Free and Content-Rich Rule of Law theories of Joseph Raz
and Ronald Dworkin.
 Then after this, tell lord Bimgham’s 8 points of Rule of Law that is the most accepted form of
Rule of Law in U.K.
 Then see caselaws that explain different versions on Rule of Law (See my notes on Rule of Law
on this, discuss Human Rights Act 1998 relating to Rule of Law, wo bhi yougurt meray notes
main hain!
