CORPORATE SPECIFICATION OF SPI (MATERIALS) LTD

STAINLESS STEEL WELDED TUBE

SPECIFICATION SWET001 ISSUE 2– 10th December 2020

Should there be any conflict between the terms of this Specification and the conditions of the Purchase Order, the
conditions of the Purchase Order should be followed

SPECIFICATIONS:

The tubes should conform to the requirements of:

ASTM A249, ASME SA249, EN10217-7 TC2 and EN10296-2+AT , PED and AD2000 W2

All of the specifications should be referenced on the Material Test Certificate

MATERIAL GRADES

The tubes should conform and be certified to the requirements of either: -

(a) 304 & 304L & 1.4301 & 1.4307,


or
(b) 316 & 316L & 1.4401 & 1.4404

TOLERANCES:

Length: 12100mm (-50 / +0)

6000mm (-0 / +100)

Quantity: +/- 10%

Outside diameter: D4

Wall Thickness: +/-10%

Surface Condition:

A good Bright Annealed finish, free from scratches

NDT:

100% Eddy Current tested as per ASTM A1016

STENCILLING:

All tubes to be stenciled every meter with material grade, specification, heat/cast number and size

CERTIFICATION:

A Material Test Certificates conforming to EN10204 3.1 should be issued for all tubes

HEAT TREATMENT:

Tubes should be supplied in a Bright Annealed (CFA) condition

HARDNESS:

≤90 HRB

Packing:

All packing should conform to SPI material’s packing specification - SP071 Issue 6- Packing Specification for tube and
pipe
