CANADA PATHWAY WITH AUTISM KIDS

Depende po sa province, I’m traveling soon kasama mga kids ko and my youngest is in the spectrum,
were going sa BC specifically Vancouver so far this is what I know;
- my specific agency/dept that handles family that requires support gaya ng shadow teacher and
therapies/ consultation, and they will connect you sa daycare/nursery/school.
- there is a grant of CAD 22k per year (upto 6yrs old, then amount reduce na to 6k cad I think pag
older kids) need mo to undergo assessment ulit, after ma assess and you rcv the report you can
submit your application for the grant.
- all mainstream schools are inclusive po so they incorporate learning alongside with the center that
handles therapy/ consultation
However the downside is ang haba ng waitlist so far getting assign for assessment is 78 weeks ang
waiting period. Hence while waiting you have to shell-out money to cover the cost of therapies and
other support needed.
In BC they introduced last December 2022 ang subsidized fee for daycare/nursery the Govt provided
fund around 850cad per month kaya yung dating 1500 nsa 650 n lng depende ilang days pasok ng
anak mo.
For us since January nka pasok na kami sa waitlist even though padating pa lang kmi by June, good
thing mababait yung mga nasa center and they entertain us even through zoom lng yung meeting and
interview, pagdating ko I’ll work on getting assessed for the grant nman.
Again each province iba2 ang program offered thus, you really have to do due diligence sa pag
research to know the right agency na i approach mo. My son is the reason why we pursue CA kasi
establish n yung mga program for kids na nasa spectrum hindi gaya let say sa Pinas that support is
non-existent lahat ng avail n program is limited and run by private entities wala man lang govt
funded though may PWD sila but still its not enough.
