There are some general guidelines of an ideal assignement for electronic submission and
hard copies.
Font:
o Use a plain serif (e.g. Times New Roman) or sans serif (e.g. Arial) font. A serif font is
easier to read.
o Use black text on a white background. Avoid coloured backgrounds or text in a colour
other than black unless you have special permission to use them (for example, if
you're dyslexic).
o Use 11 or 12 point for the body of assignment however, for headings it maybe 14.
o Use only 12pt type in standard font.
Margins:
o Assignment should have a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, left, and right.
Spacing:
o Use 1.5 or double spacing (except in lengthy offset quotations).
o Leave a blank line between paragraphs.

Heading:
o Use bold for headings. Not underlining or italics.
o Font size used for headings maybe 14.
Paragragh:
o There should be 2.0 distance in the words of paragraph.
o Space of one line should be dropped after a paraghraph.
o Write only one side of the page.
Title page
This information should be centered, starting approximately one third of the way down the page.
Numbering:
Insert a header or footer on each page (except the title page). It should contain:
Handwritten submissions
o Print or write on white A4 paper on one side only, using a blue or black pen.
o Write legibly – if a marker can’t read what you’ve written, your answer might as well
be wrong.
o If you make a mistake, use correction fluid or draw a neat line through the mistake.
o If there are too many mistakes and your work looks messy, rewrite it.
o Use a ruler for tables and graphs.
o Underline headings.
