Describe how the tiny town of Chewandswallow appears to


be a “perfect” or “ideal” society.

2. What seems dangerous about the citizens handing over


most of their power to the whims of the weather? What are
the potential problems with this power dynamic?

3. Who are the different groups of citizens impacted by the


weather in the town? How were they benefiting to start?
Struggling as things moved along?

4. The citizens were forced to flee their homes in order to


survive and were able to rebuild. What would have happened
if they couldn’t escape?

5. To the citizens of Chewandswallow, this was a utopian


world. This particular utopia failed, but is it possible for other
utopia’s to succeed? Where did this one go wrong?
