ELON MUSK BIOGRAPHY

Elon Revee Musk was born on june 28, 1971, in Pretoria, one of South Africa’s
capital cities. South African-born American entrepeneur who cofounded the
electronic-payment firm PayPal and formed SpaceX, maker of launch vehicles and
spacecraft. He was also one of the first significant investors in, as well as chief
executive officer of, the elctric car manufacturer Tesla. Musk aquired Twitter in
2022.

Musk was born to a South African father who was engineer, and his mother was a
Canadian model and nutritionist. He displayed an early talent for computers and
entrepreneurship. At age 12 he created a video game and sold it to a computer
magazine. In 1988, after obtaining a Canadian passport, Musk left South Africa
because he was unwilling to support apartheid through compulsory military
service and because he sought the greater economic opportunities available in the
United States.

At 17, Musk moved to Canada. He would later obtain Canadian citizenship

through his mother. After emigrating to Canada, Musk enrolled at Queen’s
University in Kingston, Ontario. It was there that he met Justine Wilson, an
aspiring writer. They would marry and have five sons together, twins and triplets,
before divorcing in 2008.

In 1995 he founded Zip2, a company that provided maps and business directories
to online newspapers. In 1999 Zip2 was bought by the computer
manufacturer Compaq for $307 million, and Musk then founded an online financial
services company, X.com, which later became PayPal, which specialized in
transferring money online.

Elon Musk went to Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and then
transferred to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he received
bachelors degrees.
He provided inspiration for Tony Stark. When Robert Downey Jr. Was preparing for
his role as Tony Stark in “Iron Man”, he turned to Musk for some inspiration.

The two men met and Musk helped Downey add some mannerisms to his version
of Stark that made the movies extra exciting.

He’s the richest person in the world. Musk’s ventures have made him very rich. He
currently sits atop the list of the richest people in the world, with an estimated
wealth of more tan $200 billion. His estimated worth has flucuated recently due to
changes in the stock market, as some of his wealth is tied up in shares of Tesla.
