2.1.3 Motor, solenoid valves and lighting (BU1, BU2):
Motor control (M-signal):

If the hose nozzle is removed, the computer checks whether a refueling can be started. If
the pump is released, the computer activates the M-signal - belonging to the ZV -, which
itself switches on the corresponding motor over a relay (or the appropriate immersion
pump).

ZV1à M1; ZV2à M2 etc.

Grade lamps (Q-signal):

The valid product is indicated over this signal.

1. Nozzle taken. à The product lamp, belonging to the

à nozzle, is controlled over a relay.

2. Refueling is taking place. à The Q-signal remains addressed.

3. Nozzle is reinserted. à The Q-signal remains addressed.

4. Computer is released. à The Q-signal is returned to the

à "Switzerland mode". In the other
à modes it is maintained.

Solenoid valve (MV-signal):

A choker valve is controlled over this signal. At the beginning of the refueling this signal is
only activated when the computer has registered more than three volume impulses. At
preselection and bank-note refuelings the MV-signal accordingly is taken back before the
final value is reached. Thereby an exact reaching of the rated value is ensured.

2.1.6 Display connection (ST6):

All displays, which have to be connected to this X 2000-computer are joined by this plug.
The displays are controlled over the internal standard interface. Each display has an

This switch is only required in the "Belgium mode". In this mode the segment value of the
smallest volume point is transmitted to the CPU during the display test. If two LC -displays
are run with the same display address, then DIP-switch 5 at one of the displays must be
brought into position "ON" and at the other display into position "OFF". Thereby the
computer is able to treat both displays separate from each other. If DIP-switch 5 is not
connected like this, display defects occur!

2.3 Connection of the external standard data interface:
The connection of the relay print already has been described in chapter 2.1.5

2.3.1 Relay print CURRENT LOOP:

Principle: When using the CURRENT LOOP-interfaces the units connected in the same
LOOP are joined to the MARKETER in series.

Four wires are necessary in each case:

input level 1 (from MARKETER) ZS+

input level 0 (from MARKETER) ZS-
output level 1 (from computer) SS+
output level 0 (from computer) SS-

Important: A single-computer (1 pivot point) is registered as one unit within the LOOP.
A duo-computer (2 pivot points) is registered as two units within the LOOP.

2.3.2 Relay print DART-intersection

Principle: The DART-interface is a two-wire interface according to the RS485-interface.

All units connected to this bus are wired parallelly. In order to prevent an
uncontrolled influence on the bus, such as a disturbance or power -supply
failure of a unit, the corresponding unit can be separated from the bus using
the switch locaded on the relay print.

Two connection wires are used:

input/output (level 1) SS+

input/output (level 0) SS-

Double version:

-Connection of two computers X200x.

-In this version the joining of both computers already has taken place on the
-plate bar.
-If necessary, - e.g. for a separation in two different busses the board must be
-separated and newly wired. This alteration requires four leads to the terminal
-block.

2.4 Connection print
As a rule, impulse generator and hose nozzle switch are wired directly from the terminal
block to the plug [ST01].

In several types of pumps the terminal block is not available. A connection print is
necessary, in order to assure a transfer to the plug.

2.4.1 Single-computer
The single-computer connection print makes it possible to connect up to three products at
the most

2.4.2 Duo-computer
The duo-computer connection print makes it feasible to connect one product per fueling
position.

Inputs of pump release:

For each fueling position a pump release signal is available. It is led over an optocoupler
and is read and analyzed for control over an inport by the CPU. A constant source of
current permits a maximum current of 50 ma. The minimum steering -control current
amounts to 16 ma. The current limitation must take place on the side of the external
device (e.g. resistance).

To calculate the pre-resistance using the following formula:

RV = UEXT - UOPTO = UEXT - 1,4V

IOPTO 20 10-3A

Example: The voltage UEXT at the third party equipment is 12V:

RV = 12V - 1,4V = 10,6V = 530 R

20 10 -3 0,02 A

selected resistance is 560R.

In the basic adjustment, the current has to flow over an optocoupler during valid release.
The level (HIGH or LOW) can be changed by parameter 26-30 (see programming
instructions "26 dispensing pump parameter"). The release signal is only analyzed when
the parameter 26-03 is adjusted (put on 1). The control parameter 26-29 (35) is in its basic
adjustment = 0. In this mode the release signal is only used for the start of a refueling. If
this signal is reset during the refueling, it does not influence the refueling. In this case the
external device itself has to switch off the pump motor. This variant often is found with old
installations. If the control parameter is set on 1, the external device influences the
refueling by the release signal. A refueling is started and continues until the release signal
is taken back or the hose nozzle is reinserted.

2.6 Vapour recovery Interface

2.6.1 General description.

This interface provides the control- and impulse signals for the vapour recovery systems.
All vapour recovery systems that have been used so far can be connected. The signals
are transmitted via the plugs 20, 21 und 22. Plug 20 transmits all signals needed for the
control of the vapour recovery system. The plugs 21 and 22 only transmit the volume
impulses and are used by the FAFNIR, as well as by the BÜRKERT single channel
systems. While connecting the RWA board, as well as the multi-channel BÜRKERT
system, product recognition is necessary. Connection of these systems is accomplished
by using plug 20. The 9-pin dip switch, through the use of switches 1 through 6, blends out
volume impulses for fuel products not intended for vapour recovery, (i.e. Diesel or LPG).
The switches 7 and 8 control the operating modus of the pump computer, (i.e. single or
duo modus). Switch 9 selects between the operating modus OPEN COLLECTOR, or
COLLECTOR WITH RESISTANCE at 24 volts.

The product recognition is issued in form of control signals idenical for the given nozzle
position. The relevant product signal is activated prior to the display test. In this way a
timely selection can be made for the vapour recovery sytem in question.

The volume impulses from the relevant pulsers are connected via the dip switches to the
drive switches. The signals are used by the vapour recovery system as control volumes.

The diagram below shows the plugs and dip switch SO3. These components are found
directly on the X-2003 pump computer. On the X-2000 pump computer they are found on
the external vapour recovery interface.

Page 31
2.6.2 Dip switch settings of the vapour recovery functions in
the DUO mode
Settings of the dip switch S03 determine the selected mode of operation, as well as blend
out any unmanted fuel products such as Diesel. The switches S03-1 to S03-6 are used to
blend out unwanted products. The products which are blended out correspond to the
nozzle position number and in order to blend out certain products, the switch must be
turned to th OFF position. In the pump computer SINGLE modus only the dip switches
S03-1 to S03-5 are valid. A DUO modus is selected with the shown switch positions S03 -7
and S03-8. All products are authorized for vapour recovery. The dip switch S03 -9 ist in the
OFF position. Therefore all product positions are in the OPEN COLLECTOR mode. This
means that the collector of the driver transistor is open and not connected to a resistance
to +24V. Volume impulses are issued for every fueling position. For the fueling position A
at plug St20-3 and St21-2, the signal A1 is picked up. For the fueling position B the A2
signal is connected with the plugs St20-11 and St22-2. The 2 pin plugs (St21 and St22)
are designated for the connection of the 1-channel BÜRKERT and FAFNIR systems. The
RWA board and the BÜRKERT multi channel systems are connected via the 16 pin St20.

With this dip-switch setting a SINGLE mode is selected. Connections for the product types
are only made at dip switch S03-1 to S03-5. Dip-switch S03-6 has no function in this
example. The setting of this particular switch is in this example irrelevant. The volume
connection A2 is switched off. The volume connection A1 is made using dip-switches
St20-3 and St21-2. The A2 connections have a HIGH level.

P27 test funtions:

With this register the computer executes a self-test. The following test functions are
available:

1. EPROM-test
2. RAM-test
3. display test
4. buzzer test
5. Nozzle switch test
6. impulse interfaces test

Programming:

Dial up the register (27 and ENTER).

After the dial up the test begins and automatically runs through all test functions.

With the ENTER-key you can manually switch to the next test without having to
conclude, completely, the test running at the present.

If the O-key is pressed directly after the conclusion, the last test is repeated.

The test function is left with the CLEAR-key.

The single test functions are described in the following.

1. EPROM-test

In the EPROM-test a CRC16-value is registered over the contents. During the EPROM-
test a new CRC16-value is worked out over the EPROM-range and is compared with the
registered value.

The end of the test is indicated as follows (e.g.):

test ok: amount display: P-5b7F (registered value)

volume display: C-5b7F (calculated value)

2. RAM-test

The RAM-range is executed as follows:

1. Every single RAM-element is read and its contents are registered in an auxiliary
element.
2. The complementary value is composed of the contents of the RAM -element and is
registerd into the storage location.
3. This value is read out of the storage location and is added to the value of the
auxiliary element. Herewith the value 0 must always result.
4. The original value is registered into the RAM-element again.
The end of the test is indicated as follows:

test ok: amount display

volume display PASSED (test result)
base price display P27.2 (test number)

error: amount display

volume display ErrOr (test result)
