SUBJECT : INSTALLATION OF 40 GB TOSHIBA AND 60 GB HITACHI HARD DISKS

1. AIM
Implementation of 40 GB Toshiba and 60 GB Hitachi hard disks.

2. COMPATIBILITIES
2.1 Linux version
To ensure the compatibility of these hard disks with CPUs or Call Server, the versions below and
higher must be loaded:
• R5.1.2 : E2.504.1.ah
• R6.0.1 : F1.603.1.z
• R6.1.1 : F2.502.12.d
• R6.2 : F3.301.16.d and SF3.301.16.d

If the 40 and 60 GB hard disks are not loaded with these versions, THE USE OF
DOUBLE PARTITION IS PROHIBITED.
The 40 and 60 GB hard disks can be used with Releases 6.1, 6.0 et ≤ 5.1.1 BUT THE
USE OF DOUBLE PARTITION IS PROHIBITED.

2.2 Chorus version

These hard disks can be loaded with all versions of Chorus whatever the patch.
These hard disks are compatible with all CPU boards.

3. VERSION LOADING PROCEDURE

Note
60 GB hard disk will be formatted to 40 GB whatever the release and the type of CPU.
The initial loading of 40 and 60 GB hard disks must be performed with the installation of the complete
version, of static patch and dynamic patch (i.e. with the PC installer application, at version telephone
level, you should select E25041ag or F16031y or F250212d or F330116d or SF330116d).

You must follow this procedure to be able to partition the disk otherwise after a
switch of a partition, the disk no longer restarts.
