Reaction Paper

Maria Clara at Ibarra is a Philippine television drama on the GMA network. This is also a fantasy
series based on the novels of Jose Rizal: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. After reading
the two novels, Klay, who is a Gen Z nursing student, was transported into the novels. Maria
Clara at Ibarra premiered on October 3, 2022, and it lasted until February 24, 2022, with 105
episodes. The last episode contains Klay's graduation as a nursing student, and Mr. Torres gave
her a scholarship in New York, United States. After seven years, she came back to the
Philippines as a doctor. She goes to her university to give Mr. Torres a gift, but unfortunately,
Mr. Torres has already resigned, but his grandson is there and a professor. His name is Barry
Torres, and after Klay saw the grandson of Mr. Torres, she was shocked because the faces of
Barry Torres and Crisostomo Ibarra or Simoun are the same. She was more shocked when she
heard and saw the lady beside her, who is the wife of Barry. The face of Barry's wife is also the
same as Maria Clara's. Crisostomo Ibarra, or Simoun, and Maria Clara are characters in both
novels. She gave the gift to Barry and hugged the couple twice. She thanked the multiverse
because Maria Clara and Crisostomo Ibarra had a happy ending in her universe. After that scene,
she was checking up on her patients because they had a free consultation. Then she saw a firefly,
and they were talking to each other. They walked into the forest, and then Klay saw a brown
piece of paper, which she picked up. After she picked it up, the text in the paper appeared as
"Figuras Cabalisticas." When she read it out loud, the portal beside her appeared, and Fidel came
out of the portal with his watch, slender stick, and suitcase. He looks like he came from the book
and found Klay in her universe, which is outside of the novels. Fidel is a character, but his name
is not in the books of Jose Rizal. In the 103rd episode of Maria Clara at Ibarra, Klay has a theory
about who Fidel is. She told him that maybe he is Albino in the books. He is a friend of
Crisostomo Ibarra and Maria Clara. He's just a side character, but Klay turned him into one of
the main characters. Albino's characteristics in the novel are that he has a face that seems so
playful and used to be a seminarian. The Philippine television series ended with Klay and Fidel
looking at each other.
