PHILANTHROPY
"ILERA LORO"
The Committee on Philanthropic Activities successfully embarked on a
General Medical and Dental Outreach on October 13th, 2021. Amid the
period of the resident doctors’ strike, a General Medical & Dental
Outreach themed “Ilera Loro” was chosen, born out of the idea of
reaching out to as many lives as possible. The event took place at the
heart of Ojuwoye Market in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mushin, Lagos
State, Nigeria. The true essence of philanthropy was expressed on this
day. The Outreach saw Kbites and volunteers working extensively to
ensure that about 130 patients were properly examined.

Medical and dental complaints were reported and drugs were

administered to patients who needed them. For those who had ailments
that could not be adequately resolved, they were appropriately referred
to pharmacists and doctors who could help. Attendees were also
administered a short questionnaire regarding Health Insurance and the
COVID-19 vaccine.

Certificates were subsequently given out to Kbites and volunteers.

THE OMICRON VARIANT.
The latest coronavirus strain is causing

cases in South Africa and has since been driving a spike in
infections in the U.S. and several other countries.

THE KB ROYALE
A VACATION AT WHISPERING PALMS

This year's KB Royale themed "Vendici" - Latin, (meaning "We

came, We saw, We conquered") to reflect our perseverance
despite the trials of the year, held from the 3rd to the 5th of
December, 2021 at the ostentatious Whispering Palms Hotel
and Resort, Badagry.
The Dinner featured Kbites looking classical with immaculate
tuxes topped with a bowtie, and jewels looking dazzling in
their evening dresses. The event was topped with the
induction of 5 Prospectives as Kbites of the KB Klub with the
honored presence of Life Kbite Nwandinigwe. The event also
featured a tour of the Whispering Palms environs, games and
time at the swimming pool, and a football match with the
Klub coming out as the champions. KB KB!
The bonfire night was truly the prodigious end to the event
filled with drinks, music, games and Kbites and Jewels having
fun.
The Kb Royale would not have been complete without paying
respects to our Grand Patron: Late Professor Deji Femi-
Pearse with a visit to his graveside for a brief speech and
moment of silence. Special thanks to the entire management
of Whispering Palms for a successful event.
UNVEILING MEDI-PHIL 2021.
“Medicine & Philanthropy at its best”

The past 2 years have undeniably been an exhilarating experience for the Klub and
the whole world, at large. Despite the uncertainty that comes with novel times such
as that which the COVID-19 pandemic brought to our existence, we learned to adapt
and managed to churn out excellent and exciting results, as usual.

The usually annual MEDI-PHIL magazine went on a hiatus due to the crippling
situations around the world which left us in minimal control of our affairs.

However, in February 2022, the MEDI-PHIL magazine will be back with memories from
our Golden Jubilee celebration in 2019, and Klub events from the “pandemic years” -
2020 & 2021.
