1.1.2 All the excavated hard rock obtained shall be stacked properly and neatly within the specified
lead by the contractor as directed by the Engineer.

1.2 NATURE OF EXCAVATION (Include for excavating in any type of ground encountered)

1.2.1 Excavation up to 1.5 m depth in ordinary soft/hard soil including backfilling and consolidation by
watering and ramming.

1.2.2 Excavation from 1.5 m to 3.0 m depth in ordinary soft/hard soil including backfilling and
consolidation by watering and ramming.

1.2.3 Excavation from 3.0 m to 4.5 m depth in ordinary soft/hard soil including backfilling and
consolidation by watering and ramming.

1.2.4 Excavation in hard murram / soft rock up to 1.5 m depth.

1.2.5 Excavation in hard murram / soft rock from 1.5 m to 3.0 m depth.

1.2.6 Excavation in hard rock by chiselling / blasting up to 1.5 m.

1.2.7 Excavation in hard rock by chiselling / blasting from 1.5 m to 3.0 m.

1.3 EXCAVATION PARAMETERS:

1.3.1 The excavation under all classifications in areas in trenches or in pits shall be carried out
systematically.

1.3.2 Cutting shall be done from top to bottom and no under-pining or undercutting will be allowed.

1.3.3 The bottom and sides of excavation shall be dressed to proper level, slopes, steps, camber etc. by
removing high spots, and ramming thoroughly as directed by the Engineer.
All the excavation shall be carried out strictly to the dimensions given in the drawing. The width shall generally
be of the width of Blinding concrete and depth as shown in drawing or as directed by the Engineer, according
to availability of the desired bearing capacity of soil below. Any excavation if taken below the specified depths
and levels, the contractor shall at his own cost fill up such overcut to the
