On September 11, 2023 at exactly 7:30 again we go to our respective room for the return
demonstration again for the Sterile Gloving and Inserting Foley Catheter wherein the checklist is
difficult to memorize and sink in to my brain because it is long procedure though Ma’am Ja May
Gonzales explained to us what we are going to do and only performed part so that it would be
easily remembered. Then at around 10:00 PM we started to perform which is the same order of
who will perform and yet for me l feel nervous because I didn't memorize though I just make it
simple to be rem membered. As I perform my part. It was a good experience to do it and enhance
myself whenever there's a duty because this skill on Sterile Gloving and Inserting Foley Catheter
was a good way to know also the rationale and health teaching of the patient with ADPIE. During
our return demonstration, we all felt like we needed to look to our instructor for guidance in what
we should do. The reason for this was because we all lacked the confidence to feel like we knew
what we were doing. If I could do it again, I would have liked to have been more knowledgeable
about the scenario so that I could be more confident. It is obvious that all of our instructors have a
common goal, which is for all of us to learn as much as we possibly can. I honestly think that by
allowing as many opportunities as possible to see and experience as much as possible will help us
all learn from our clinical experiences. I found all of our simulations very interesting today. I gained
an enormous amount of information which I am sure will enhance my skill performance. Our
instructor was very helpful in explaining fetal monitoring and how to interpret the strips.
In conclusion, performing the Sterile Gloving and IFC is a part of an experience and skills as I
undergo this procedure because a good start up and understanding the rationale and applying the
health teaching is one way to care for a patient need.
