I am applying for the Occupational Therapist position advertised on seek.

I am writing to express my interest in the Occupational Therapist position. I recently

graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a degree in Occupational
Therapy and I am eager to begin my career in this field.

After graduating in 2022, I embarked on my first role in the field as a occupational

therapist intern at an Auckland based Concussion Service. I quickly found that my
passion does not lie in the concussion rehabilitation practice. I have decided to move
on to the next stage in my occupational therapy journey and find a position where I
can use my skills and interests to better serve the employer and clients I work with.

Although I have less than one year of experience as an occupational therapist, I am

confident that my education and skills make me a strong candidate for the position.
My enthusiasm and willingness to learn will make me a valuable asset to your team.
I am a great team player with excellent communication skills and carry with me a
very strong work ethic background.

I have practical real life experience working as an occupational therapist. Below

highlights my duties and responsibilites that I engaged in.

1) Rapport building and professional relationship skills

2) Time management skills as demonstrated through appointment planning and
scheduling
3) Interviewing skills and administrative report writing
4) Clinical assessments involving the nature of the clients injuries and treatments
5) Educating and informing clients through the complex TBI (traumatic brain
injury) symptoms, care and management in order for clients to restore their
well-being (ie, tolerance building activities, using brain breaks and self
care/hygiene practices)
6) Assessment of questionnaires screening for physical and cognitive functioning
including mental health symptoms
7) Creation of personalised intervention plans for each client
8) Liaising with the multidisiciplinary team
9) Communicating and networking with the outside professional health sector to
support the client
