"Blessed are those who
mourn, for they shall be
comforted"
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
“The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude”
– Thornton Wilder. As humans, we are made in God's
image and likeness, and as the Son of God, Jesus also has
emotions and grieves the loss of his dear friend Lazarus.
Jesus wept because He experienced and understood the
same feelings as the people around Him.
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
The Lord Jesus lived a perfect life, overcoming sin,
suffering, and even death itself despite being clothed in
flesh and subject to human weaknesses. Despite living a
perfect life, standing before a tomb, He cried. Grief is a
natural part of life, and all of our lives are precious for it is a
gift from God.
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
To cherish the lives of those you love is as important as
cherishing and loving yourself. People mourn because
they regret, regret that they should’ve done all the things
they wanted to do with the other person and now that
they are gone, they suffer and experience an
overwhelming amount of emotion.
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
And with this beatitude it teaches us to be human and that
we as humans are not perfect. God blesses these people
for they understand the pain of grief. By combining the
emotional reaction of grief, the second joy deepens our
spiritual awareness of our spiritual poverty. When we
encounter evil in our lives, we become depressed.
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
It also has an effect on our sadness when faced with the
horrors of the world, including potential sins at work. Evil
can come from within you, from others, or from unknown
sources.
The 2nd Beatitude
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"
We encounter various obstacles in life, in which we have
times of suffering. For some people, Comforting is very
important since it is a hope, a way to help them lighten
their burden or suffering and a way to make them realize
that they're not alone in this time of difficulty.
