TASK1:

The maps illustrate an island before and after a few renovation works for tourists and compare the
changes on the island for the construction.

Generally, there are many facilities that have been constructed for tourists, including restaurant,
accommodation, swimming area, and so on. Those are constructed without damaging to the
environment.

Before those facilities were constructed, the island just had some coconut trees and was surrounded
by the beach. Most of the places were empty. After that, many tourists’ facilities have been made to
serve travelers, involved in accommodation facilities, restaurant, reception centre, pier for boating,
swimming area on the beach and so on. Noticeably, most of the constructions were built near the
beach which attract tourists easily.

Moreover, footpaths and roads for commuting have been constructed to facilitate tourists. The
footpath were created for tourists to commute from resident places to the beach conveniently while
vehicle tracks were made to visit the restaurant and the reception area and pier for boating.

TASK 1:

The given pictures illustrate the process of plastic recycling.

Overall, there are essentially six stages in the plastic recycling process, beginning with purchasing,
utilsing and discarding new plastc products and ending with newly recycled products entering the
market again.

In the first stage, the new products are displayed in shops are bought, used and thrown away. Plastic
bags, as well as other garbage made from plastic, are sent and buried in the land fill sites. However,
plastic bottles and container made from plastic are kept and collected to recycle. After the plastic
bottle are gathered, they are then taken to the sorting houses where they are categorized into
different types.

When the plastic has been divided, it is then loaded on the trucks and transported to factories in
which it is processed and made into new plastic products. These products are finally distributed back
to the shops where they are sold, reused and thrown away again, thereby continuing the process.

TASK 2 :

In today’s society, some recruiters bias candidates who have formal academic qualifications rather
than those with only life experience or good personality traits. This essay will look at some causes of
this problem and I personally assert that this trend is negative.

There are a lot of reasons why some employers think that academic degrees are more essential than
work experience or personal qualities when they found new staffs. Firstly, they believe that
candidate with academic qualification are equipped with in depth knowledge and useful skills which
are necessary for their future jobs. As a result, these people could make greater contributions to
their company than those without any formal qualifications. In addition, students who make effort
to their study in order to get a university degree which somehow prove that they are hard working
and preserving people.

In conclusion, there are various reasons why some employers prefer people with academic degrees
rather than those who have life experience or good personalities.
