Dear students,

A major component of the course is a software development project. The objective is to develop
a software product for an actual client who intends to use it in a production application.

For this purpose, you will form project teams with 5 members. During the semester, the project
team will work together through the full development cycle from understanding the requirements
to delivering a functioning product and making a presentation of your work to the client.

- Form your team.

- As a Team, select a project topic.
- Your team are looking for a software company that will develop this software product
for you.
- As a team, write a user story which describing your expectations. (We will see user
stories this week)

In selecting a project, think broadly, think about what you expect from this project. Your project
can be an application, system software, or even a toolkit. You can either select a topic from the
list or suggest your own project idea (it needs to be approved by TA).

Each topic can be worked on by one group. If more than one group chooses the same topic, the
group that submits the topic first will have priority. You must submit the project topic, your
group members, and your project's high-level user story as a pdf file in the LMS under First Task
for Projects (Sections 1&2&3). The deadline for this task is Mar. 26, 2023 (@23:59). One
submission per group is sufficient. If you have trouble forming your team, please email me
before the deadline so I can help you. After the deadline, project topics and groups will be
randomly assigned.
Example of a user story:
“I have a private fitness saloon and I want to make an appointment mobile application for my
clients. With this mobile application, my fitness members will be able to make an appointment
quickly. Also, they will be able to see the status of my calendar and the days I am not working.
Apart from these, I want to see the information of all my members who use my application and I
want to automatically calculate how much turnover I make per month with mobile application.
Also, I want to put custom ads inside the mobile app.”
