The Job Demands–Resources questionnaire can be used for free in non-commercial, scientific research. Commercial and/or non-scientific use is
prohibited, unless the author grants permission (in writing).
Information for Researchers
This questionnaire measures all the variables included in the JD-R model (Bakker & Demerouti,
2014).2 This means that the questionnaire can be used to find out what the predictors are of work
engagement and job performance. Researchers who use this instrument agree with the condition
that the data will be sent to Arnold Bakker in SPSS-format (bakker@fsw.eur.nl). Please use the
questionnaire as the codebook, and use as item (variable) names the labels mentioned between
brackets after every item. Send the data as an SPSS-file using the order of the items in the
questionnaire. The JD-R questionnaire can be used for free in scientific research. For articles on
JD-R theory and employee work engagement, please visit: www.arnoldbakker.com. On this
website, you will also find updated information regarding the questionnaire. For the time being,
this is how you can refer to the instrument:
