2) Outline Proposal

Our proposal is based on the SAMSON Surface Feeder design as manufactured by AUMUND
Group for over 25 years during which time we have installed more than 800 units in many
industries around the world.

The SAMSON detail design is illustrated in our leaflets and data sheets and incorporates the
following standard features for this application: -

a) SAMSON with Deflected Chassis design with inclined discharge section to raise the material
to the discharge height providing simplified transfer to the onward conveyor equipment.
Deflected chassis helps in easy unloading of material onto the feeder.
b) Unique High performance, Trapezoidal form load bearing Double Apron Bars located every
pitch of the conveyor chain.
c) Electro-Mechanical drive comprising direct-coupled electric geared motor with shaft mounted
bevel helical reduction gear (or) AC Motor with planetary gearbox.
d) Levelling Blade output controller providing a regulated Volumetric discharge to the following
conveyor proportional to the SAMSON belt speed, the blade is Semi-Adjustable generally for
fixing on final commissioning.
e) Unique design for adjustable Double Blade pivoting Belt Cleaner with additional wiper blade
to rear chute elevation ensures optimum performance.
f) Integral head chute to transfer the material from the SAMSON to the following conveyor feed,
incorporates double inspection doors and safety mesh.
g) Supporting legs to local ground level terminates with footplates to be welded to the insert
plates of the concrete foundations.
